The sand was blinding. I felt the water brush against my feet. It worked it's way up to my knees. I couldn't tell if I was screaming, the roar of the wind drowned out every noise. Then it all stopped. The sand dropped to the ground. The waves settled. Thana rose up and clashed to the ground. I jumped up and ran over to her. I shook her. "Thana! Thana!" She took a breath and started crying. "What? What's wrong?" She wouldn't stop crying. Annebeth ran up behind me. "Where the fuck were you?!" "Doesn't matter!" She grabbed my arm and Thana's. She took me back to the Nothing. "What are we doing here?" I asked. Annebeth sighs. "She's been here too long. Her soul is fading. If you want her to stay then she has to go now!" "That doesn't make any sense! She can't go! I'm not ready!" I grabbed her arm and tears sprang from my eyes. Thana sits up. She yanks her arm from both of us. She is silent as she stands up. She walks glancing at Hell. Then Heaven. She turns to the blackness. She points. "Here is where I go. Isn't it?" Annebeth nods slowly. Thana walks over to me. She takes my hand in hers, and smiles. "It's okay." She turns and she falls into the darkness.
