Annebeth held out her hand again. "What?" I ask. "Take my hand." I reluctantly grip hold of her hand. She takes me back to where I saw the Grand Council. "What am I doing here?" Annebeth gestures towards the door. I move forward slowly. I push open the door but this time I wasn't alone. Thana stood in the center of the room. She whipped her head at me. She heaved a heavy sigh. She came forward and hugged me. "Are you okay?" I ask. She just nods. I take her hand and pull her out.
When we were out I started heading toward the river when she stopped. I turned around. "I'm going to die. Aren't I?" I didn't know how to reply. I tried to lighten the mood and laughed a little. "Technically you're already dead." "What?!" She started to panic. "Don't you remember? You hung yourself.. In your bedroom.." Her eyes grew wide. "I did what?!" Her breathing increased heavily. "You really don't remember?" She shook her head. I slowly took a step closer to her. "It's okay." I say. I grab her hand and move back to the River.
*********
When we reach the River I stop at the water's edge. She looks at me. "What if we go in?" "What?" I ask. "What happens, if we go in?" "Hmmm.." "I.. I don't know." She looks at me and takes a step forward. Her foot disappears under the shallow water. She smiles down at herself and continues forward.
One step in
Two steps in
Three steps in
Four.
She drops into the river like a stone.
"Thana!" I take a step forward into the River and it turns red.
"What the fuck?" It starts to heat up and I fall back onto the sand. My foot is bleeding from an invisible cut. I don't feel any pain. I stand back up and back away. "Thana! Thana! Can you hear me!? There was no response except for the roaring of the river. The current was picking up speed and pouncing off the sand. The wind began to pick up and the sand swirled around me. "Thana!" My scream got lost in the wind. I couldn't see anything. I was knocked down by a blunt force. I covered my head with my hands and screamed.
