We walk up the front steps and I try to open the door. My hand glides right through the door knob. "Uh.. Annebeth.." She quickly steps in front of me and closes her eyes. The door opens. "How did you-" She puts her finger to her mouth and I stop talking. "I thought you said they can't hear us." I ask. She tightens her jaw and hisses, "They can't but can I'm concentrating! Shut up!" I close my mouth and try hard not to make any sound. I think, "What could she possibly have to concentrate on now?" I follow her up the staircase and she looks at me, asking which way to go with her eyes. I shrug my shoulders and point to the door to the left of us. She walks to the door and closes her eyes. The door opens again. "Move quickly." Annebeth instructs. I slide through the door right before it closed again. I stand in the room and memories flooded my mind. I remember Her and I playing chef with Her little toy kitchen She has. I remember us drawing on Her chalkboard. I glance and then I see Her. She is sitting on Her couch with a binder in Her lap. She is hunched over the binder writing. I try to see what She is writing but I can't. She finally sits up. I peer over Her shoulder and I start to read. It said, 'I'm sorry I did this. This is not your fault. I love you all, and I'll see you when you're gone.' I know immediately what She is going to do. I look over at Annebeth and she is staring at me. "We can't let her do this. I can't let her do this!" I run over to her. I stand up straight and ask, "What can I do? This can't happen!" "I told you. You can't control anything that happens here, in this world." Annebeth studied my reaction. "No! This isn't going to happen!"I go over to Her. She suddenly turns around. She moves back over to the note. She starts to cry. I feel as though my heart is melting. "No.. Please don't do this." She stands over the note, and she doesn't move. I pray, , "Please.. Please.. Please. Don't do it. I promise it'll be okay. Please.." The world around me starts to shake. Darkness surrounds me as I start to fall. I fall to my knees as She drops the note and steps back on the chair. "No.. You can't do this to me. Please don't leave." I can't move. I watch as She stares out at the falling sun. She begins to tie the rope. "PLEASE STOP THIS!" I scream. "PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!" Annebeth stands, hovering over me. I look up and I start to cry. "ANNEBETH!" Tears stream down from my face, and I start to shake. Her brown eyes are empty and She takes a deep breath. "NO!" Annebeth moves over and grips my shoulders. She whispers some words and I feel the air get colder. I close my eyes as She steps off the chair.
