The rest of the week at lunch, Nila sat with us. She talked to them all about vampires, and everyone but Sophie willingly talked to her. They were happy to, actually. I was kind of tired of Sophie, to tell you the truth. How could a person manage to be so mean and so nasty all the time? I thought it would’ve just been too tiring to keep up by now, but she managed to.

The rest of the week was a very, very good week. I spent the weekend and Monday in Georgia with my grandmother. My mom and dad were amazing- they let me skip school! Whoo! It was a nice break from everything; even it was just three days. But I had to say, I missed my friends dearly, and I couldn’t wait to go back to school.

Tuesday morning, I finished getting ready, and slipped on my shoes. I grabbed everything I needed, and headed out the door. When I got in my car, I was feeling particularly happy. I knew that today was going to be a good day. And I knew I would enjoy it immensely.

I pulled into the school parking lot, my music blaring and the bass pounding. I stepped out of my car, grabbing my bag, and walked over to my group.

"I'm here!" I sang, throwing my arms out, laughing.

"Bekka!" a few of the guys exclaimed.

Chris came over and pulled me into a bone-breaking hug. "It just wasn't same without you yesterday!" he said.

"Uh, Chris? Can't really breathe," I said. When he put me down, I laughed.

Nick, Caleb, and Ashton all came over and hugged me too. When the guys were out of the way, Ashleigh and Nila engulfed me into a hug.

"Geez guys! You'd think I'd been gone for a month, not a day!" I said, laughing.

"Just wasn’t the same without you," Taylor said, being sarcastically sincere.

"Thanks Taytay," I said, equally sarcastic.

    She laughed.

I looked over and saw Grace, Caroline, Cole, Peter, and my friend McKenzie. I was glad to see my two groups had merged, and were all friends now. Well mostly all.

"You better go over there and say hi," Ashleigh murmured.

"Okay," I said without hesitation. I had missed his smiling blue eyes. I began walking over in that direction, Ashleigh and Nila on each of my sides.

When we got over to them, a smile immediately came to Cole's face, as if he couldn’t help it. Of course I smiled as well.

    "Bekka!" Caroline exclaimed.

"Oh my gosh hi!" Grace exclaimed.

I tore my gaze away from Cole. "Hey guys!" I said. I gave them both a hug.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have skipped school Monday if I'd known how missed I would be. This was slightly ridiculous! But I couldn’t say I wasn’t flattered.

    "Hey Peter!" I exclaimed.

"Hey Bekka!" he said, just as enthusiastic.

I giggled and gave him a one armed hug.

One person left, I thought. Here goes.

"Hi Cole!" I said. I gave him a full out hug, letting it last a little longer than necessary. I smelled the faint hint of his cologne that smelled really good.

If he was surprised by my action, he didn't show it. But I knew he was.

He laughed a little. "Hey, Bekka," he said, smiling down at me.
