Monday morning, I straightened my hair, and twisted my bangs back, clipping them to the side of my head. My make-up was simple but flirty, with lots of shimmery gold colors. Eyeliner outlined my eyes, and my lashes were long from mascara. It was a little chilly today, so I wore some faded skinny jeans, with a leather belt. I grabbed a white low-cut v-neck that had a few flowers on the left side of the neckline. I put on some perfume, slid on my tan Sperry's and grabbed my bags. I walked out to my car, and threw everything in. my phone beeped.
Come get me please!
It was from Ashleigh. I typed a quick reply that I was on my way, and headed to her house. When I got there, she got in, wearing a tight pink pencil skirt from Forever 21 with a black band at the waist. She had on a white top, and her hair was curled. As she climbed into my car, I smiled at her.
"Well doesn’t somebody look cute today?" I asked.
"Thanks!" she said, shutting her door.
"Bet you Lance will like that," I said, winking at her.
"If he even talks to me," she said.
"Uh oh. Did I start a trend?" I asked.
"I hope not," she sighed. "Oh, Nila texted me. She said she wants in on the car party," she instantly perked up.
I groaned. "God! Do I have to pick up Taylor and Grace, too?" I asked.
Ashleigh just shook her head, and in three minutes Nila was climbing in the back of car. She was wearing a short black skirt that went to her mid-thigh, and was ruched all the way down. She had a cute purple top on, too.
"Hey!" she said.
"Hey," I replied, continuing to drive.
"Did you guys hear about Taylor?" she asked, leaning forward excitedly.
"Nope," I said. Ashleigh shook her head.
"She was on the bar at gymnastics last night and fell and broke her leg," Nila said.
I winced. "Ow. Is she okay?"
"Obviously not, Bekka," Ashleigh said. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not sure if she's in a wheelchair or just in crutches. Guess we'll find out," Nila said.
"We're about to!" I said, parking my car in my spot, which no longer neighbored Tyler.
The three of us stepped out of my car, and walked to where everyone met everyday. There were more people than a few weeks ago. There was Lindsey, Callie, Donna, Chris, Jack, Emma, and Caleb. And then there was poor Taylor, looking miserable in her giant leg cast and supporting herself with crutches. We walked up to everyone, and the attention immediately went to me.
"So Bekka. I heard about your date Friday night," Stephanie said. She surprisingly didn't sound malicious when she said it, just curious.
"Oh?" was my response.
"Are you trying to prove how much of a whore you are?" Veronica asked, sneering.
"It's been a month. Do you expect me to wallow in grief forever?" I shot back. She rolled her eyes.
"Wait, you're already dating on me, Bek?" Chris asked.
I smiled. "Sorry," I replied. Chris was cute. He had sandy blonde and cute brown eyes. We'd always flirted, but it was nothing more.
