Harper's P.O.V ( point of view for those who don't know)

Hi, my name is Harper and I am 6 years old and I have been here for 5 years. So basically all my life. From what I've been told my parents left me in a box when I was a baby in an alley way but someone heard me crying and took me here. I have a brother that is 22... At least that is what it said in the note that was left with me. I hate it here! The owner and my friend, Madelyn, are the only ones nice to me; all the other girls are mean, they take my Christmas presents and pull my hair. Taking my presents are bad enough. But anyway I just got done with breakfast and it was adoption day Friday. I put on my black sparkly dress (picture.) and black tights and shoes, Madelyn who is 6 knows how to do a French braid so she did that to the both of us and we went downstairs.
"Do you think we'll get adopted today?" Madelyn asked(I'll be calling her Maddie)
" I don't know. Why don't we get adopted? We're so cute!" I said as I turned on a Challenge Games video. I love Pat and Jen,I watch them when ever I'm feeling sad, so does Maddie.
"Alright girls, sit in your chair and smile wide because all our parents are waiting outside" Ms. Johnson(owner) said as she grabbed the door knob and opened the door. I smiled bright and a couple walked toward me but they went to the person 4 chairs to my right.

I got on my Pjs and continued to watch The Challenge Games video. Maddie had gotten adopted and I had started to cry, that's why I was watching Pat and Jen. I had an idea.

At 1:30 in the morning I got up and grabbed my favorite teddy bear and a warm pair of clothes and fuzzy boots and tennis shoes and put those in to a backpack. I also brought some money and a picture of me and Maddie. I opened the window and climbed out...... I had no idea what was ahead of me.
