"I Love you"

Pats P.O.V.
As I woke up, I noticed there was no one sleeping next to me. But as the memories came flooding back, I remembered that Jen was at the hospital with Harper. I sat up and looked around for nothing in particular. The only interesting thing I found was Cloud. I got out of bed and headed to the kitchen for my breakfast for one. (A/N *cough* loner *cough*) After I made and ate my breakfast, I went to our recording room. I decided to set up trolls in Jens house. While I was recording, I had fans tweet me what to do.
"Peace out!" I yelled into the microphone and stopped the recording . I checked the time: 8:52pm. The hospital opens up for visitors at 9:00. It takes me about 20 minutes to get there so I wouldn't be there right away, but I wouldn't be there at like 10. I grabbed my keys and headed for the door.

~time skip to hospital~

Jens P.O.V.
I woke up to Harper crying. She was curled in a ball on the bed.
"What happened pumpkin?"She pointed to her throat. "Your throat hurts?" She nodded. I looked at a pain chart on the table and brought it to Harper. She's a smart one so she knows how to read and write. Most kids learn when they are six. Harper looked at all of the faces. Finally she pointed at 10. She burst into tears again. The door opened and Pat came in followed by a nurse.
"Harper, this is for your throat pain and to help you throat heal. Ok?" The nurse said and Harper nodded. Harper took the cup and Pat handed over a glass of water. She drank the medicine and took a drink immediately after that. She had a disgusted look on her face.
"You may take her out today but you must be back here by 6:00. " The nurse stated.
"Ok. Thank you." Dad said. "What do you want to do?" Me and Harper looked at each other and then I said, "SHOPPING!"Pat groaned, but said yes.

~time skip to mall~ Jens P.O.V.
We drove into the mall parking lot and got out of the car. We walked in and immediately went to Justice, we got her a lot of stuff. After that we went to another store to get her a new swimsuit because she was way skinnier and she couldn't fit into her other one anymore. Stupid brother of hers. After we got a swimsuit (pic is Harper wearing it), we went to get her new shoes. We got her some flip-flops, Converse, sandals and tennis shoes.
"Where do you want to go now? Pat asked.
Harper pointed to her stomach.
"You're hungry?" Pat asked. Harper nodded. She held up her arms. I picked her up, she wrapped her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. Her legs couldn't reach all the way around me. She laid her head on my shoulder. When we got to the food court, I put Harper down. We got a blue slushy for me and Harper and a red one for Pat. We all got hot dogs. I was surprised there were no fans yet. Oh. Spoke to soon. A lot of fans were rushing over. I set Harper on my lap and she buried her head into my neck. Pictures were taken, autographs were signed, questions were asked. It took about an hour to do all of those things. Finally, when everyone was gone, Harper lifted her head. Tears were silently streaming down her face.
"Are you ok, baby?" I asked her. She nodded. I hugged her.
"We have an hour before we have to go back to the hospital. Do you want to go home and see Cloud?" Pat asked. Harper nodded excitedly. We left the hospital and went home. The three of us played with Cloud.
"Harper, do you want me to give you a bath?" I asked. She nodded. We went into the bathroom and she got in the bath when the water was the right temperature and her clothes were off. I examined the cuts on her back. They were starting to heal but some deep ones were scarring. After her bath, she put on pajamas and we ate dinner. After dinner she climbed into my lap and fell asleep.
"I have to record. I'll be down in about 20 minutes." Pat said and kissed the top of Harper's head.

~Time skip 20 minutes~ Pats P.O.V.
After I finished the video, I went downstairs to get ready to go back to the hospital. Harper was still asleep on Jens lap. When she saw me, she carefully stood up. We got in the car, Jen in the front by me and Harper still sleeping in the back. When we got to the hospital, Jen picked Harper up and we went inside to our room. We put Harper in bed and the nurse came in.
"Thank you for coming back on time. We have to give Harper her medicine tonight and tomorrow morning and then she can talk after that." She gently shook Harper awake.
"You have to take your medicine now. And then tomorrow after you take it you can talk." The nurse told her sweetly. Harper nodded and drank the medicine. After that she fell asleep again.
"Well I'm going to go home." I said.
"Ok. Tomorrow after Harper is home, I'll be there to record. I promise." Jen said and hugged me goodbye.

~time skip 7:30am~ Harper's P.O.V.
-Dream-
"Hi mom and dad." I said sweetly.
"Who are you?" Dad said, rocking his blood-related son.
"It's Harper. Your adopted daughter." I said.
"What? We only have one child. Jake." Mom said kissing the baby's forehead.
"But-" mom cut me off.
"Get out of our house, rat." Mom pushed me out the door.
"Wait! Its Harper! Mom! Dad!" I screamed when the door closed. Tears were streaming down my face. I sunk to the ground and whispered, "Please. It's Harper."
-End of dream-
I awoke with a start. No one was awake yet. I curled in a ball and cried my little eyes out until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked at the person. It was a nurse.
"Are you ok?" She asked. I nodded. "Do you want to have your medicine now and be able to talk when your parents are up?" I nodded again, this time more excitedly. I'm handed the cup and I drink it quickly.
"Can you say, 'Hi, my name is Harper'?" The nurse asked.
"Hi, my name is Harper." My voice is hoarse and scratchy from not talking for so long. I keep saying different sentences until I can talk perfectly. Then the nurse leaves.
"Wait!" I say. The nurse stops and looks at me. "I just wanted to thank you for helping me." I stand up, walk over to her and give her a hug.
"I'll be there when you need a friend." She said.
"One more thing. Can I call you aunt Sienna, because you're much more then a friend to me." I say. She nods with tears in her eyes, gives me a small kiss on the cheek and walks away. I head back to bed and lay down, thinking about my dream. They would never forget me, right? I'll ask them when they are up. I was deep in thought when a heard the door open. Standing in the door way was ...Daddy! He had flowers and a present. I jumped out of bed and hugged him.
"Daddy!" I said happily. He picked me up.
"Woah, princess! You can talk now!" He said. I nodded.
"Aunt Sienna gave me my medicine and helped me practice talking." I said.
"Aunt Sienna? The nurse?" Dad said, confused. I nodded.
"I asked her if I could call her that and she said yes with happy tears." I told him. He nodded and put me on the bed.
"Daddy?" I said.
"Yes?" He answered.
"Will you ever forget me?" I asked, worriedly.
"Never. No way. Absolutely not. I could never forget you. Mommy couldn't either. You mean to much to us." I let out a sigh of relief.
"One more thing. Will I have a brother?" I asked him.
"You already do and from what he does to you, I don't think you need another one."
"Good." I say. He looked at me weird. I explained the dream to him.

Jens P.O.V.
I woke up to whispering. I looked up to see Pat on his phone and Harper sleeping. I was really confused.
"Hey." I said.
"How was your sleep?" Pat asked.
"Good." I said and sat on the bed and stroked Harper's hair. All of a sudden Harper jumped up and wrapped her arms around me. She said, "I can talk now." I had tears in my eyes when I hugged her back.
"I'm hungry." Pat said. The door opened and an ice cream cake was brought in.
All of a sudden Pat started singing:
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Harper. Happy birthday to you. By the end everyone in the room was singing.
"Happy 6th birthday baby." I say.
"Thank you." Harper said. She hugged me, Pat and the nurse. After we ate cake for breakfast, Harper opened her presents. She got a guinea pig from Pat (with a cage food etc.) she got a gigantic teddy bear from me. And from the nurse she got dance outfits. We also gave her 4 tickets to Disney world.
"Harper, you can pick one person to go with us to Disney. Who do you want?" I asked.
"Aunt Sienna!" Harper said, pointing to the nurse.

~Time skip to home~ Harper's P.O.V. (Sorry for hers again)
When we got home, I helped mommy and daddy set up my guinea pig cage. After that I had to go to dance for the first time. I put on one of my new out fits. Before we left to go, I said, "Ever since my brother took me, I haven't been able to say what I wanted to." I took a deep breath and said it, "I love you."

Yay. So that was the end of the book. Just kidding. I'm going to make a sequel after this is done (which will be in a long time) . How was everybody's 4th of July🇺🇸? If you don't celebrate it then, I hope you had a good week. I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a while. I had a 3-4 hour car ride so I worked on this during that. I hope you enjoyed. Good news!
