Jakes P.O.V.
"Get out!" I yelled and tossed Harper out of the cave. Madison was trapped in the back. I ran through the fire, scooped her up and, with burning legs, I ran out of the cave.

A bear stumbled out of to woods. Followed by two bears the same size. I began to fight them.
"Go. I got them." I told Pat, Jen and Harper to go. I took down one while Madison was chased somewhere by another. When we were done, 3 bears ran back into the woods. I looked around and saw that Madison was gone.

"Madison!" I yelled.
"Jake!" A distant, struggling voice said. I ran towards the sound of her voice.
"Madison! Madison!" I yelled.
"Jake!" I found her. Hands tied above her head and her side braid blowing in the wind.

"Be careful. Henry has 300 pound guys working for him. They hung me here. Look out." Madison warned. Guys ran out of the woods with spears, axes and knives. One climbed up a tree and dropped a rope with a loop at the bottom.

He looped the ring around her neck and tightened it. He was going to hang her.
I kicked the guys until they fell. Madison was struggling while the guy was pulling out the stump she was standing on.

He pulled it out and she was hanging. Her face was turning red. I used an axe to cut the rope. She dropped to the ground. I took out the other guy and picked Madison up. I found the other three and sat with them.

"What if next time we don't-" Madison started.
"Hey, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you." I said. This promise I will keep.

Harper's P.O.V.
Everyone had burns on their bodies. We smothered water on our burns and found a clearing to sit in. Jake came back with scratches, burns and bruises.
Madison was in his arms with a bruise around her neck in addition to everything else.

"We are going to go put water on our burns." Jake said. He took Madison hand led her away. They came back with their legs dripping. Mom pulled me into her arms. She stood up and slowly backed away. Dad beside us.
"What?" Madison said and turned around.

She fell to the ground a long with Jake. Dad next. Mom threw me into the tree and she fell to the ground. I climbed up the tree helplessly. I slipped and fell. I hung on for dear life. A needle entered my skin and I fell to the ground. I remember Henry smirking at me before I blacked out.

Madison's P.O.V.
I woke up next to Jake and Harper. They looked at me. Took the wooden spear out of my back pocket and tried to cut the ropes.
"Oh. Someone's trying to escape. No no." Henry said and took the piece of wood out of my hands.

"I have clothes set aside for each one of you. It's like the Hunger Games. You cannot team up. We have cameras set up to watch your every move. You have to bring your opponents back here with a bruise on his our her face from you slapping them." Harper shrunk back into the tree. Pat and Jen looked at each other. If anyone finds out about that, it's prison for them.

"Harper. Here are your clothes. Go change." Henry untied Harper and she went behind a tree. She soon came back with black skinny jeans, a grayish greenish shirt, brown boots and her hair was now braided to the side instead of a high ponytail. A dark brown scarf was wrapped around her neck.

The three others changed and now it was my turn. I put my stuff on. I had skinny jeans, a green shirt, a half jean jacket and brown boots. I put on the white beanie and stood against my tree. Henry looked at me.

"Mom. French braid her hair." My mom came over and tugged at my hair. I slipped my beanie back on when she was done. I felt myself being tied to the tree again.
"Harper. Since you are only 7. You get an advantage. You get a blanket, water, a few apples and ropes. They will be in a backpack." Henry pulled out a camera. What was he doing?

Jens P.O.V.
I think we all agree to let Harper win. We can't slap her. I know for a fact that Henry will tell the cops. Henry took a picture of everyone.
"When you are brought back here, you will see your picture in the sky like in the Hunger Games. If you are here first, your punishment will be really bad. If you are here second, it will hurt but not as bad as the first one. I think you know what I mean." He explained.

"At the sound of the bell, you can run. Oh, but did I tell you that I am playing as well?" Henry smirked. Oh no. He stared at Harper. He knew that we were going to let her win. He was going to make sure she was here first.

Henry's dad picked up a bell and when she shook it, a sound filled the air like fog. The ropes fell to our feet. Harper grabbed her backpack and ran as fast as she could. Henry chased after her. If only we could team. This wasn't going to end well.

Harper's P.O.V.
I ran. Tears were streaming down my pale face. Henry grabbed my backpack and pulled. I slipped out of it and ran. I was out of breath. I had to stop. Someone grabbed my shoulder and I saw the face I never wanted to see. Henry. I pulled out of his grip and ran again.

I heard his foots steps getting closer and closer. I let out a scream. A hand was put over my mouth. My hands were tied behind my back. Duct tape covered my mouth. I was lifted of the ground. I kicked and wiggled. We got to the clearing with the ropes still on the ground.

I was being suspended from I high branch. I heard people come out of the woods. My family and Jake. They all had bruises on their cheeks.

"Yes. They don't have Harper yet." Pat said.
"Think again." Henry laughed and pointed at me. I tried to make all the noise I could. Madison gasped and tried to run forward. Henry held her back. My real dad cut the rope that was hanging me.

I fell the the ground in pain. My hands were untied and I took the tape off my mouth. I ran to dad. He picked me up. I gripped his shirt as if my life depended on it. Which it kind of did.

"Now for the punishing." Henry turned towards me and dad. I buried my head in his neck. He held on the me tighter.

"Let go or I kill you, Harper." My real mom sneered. I let go of dad. Slap! Smack! Punch! Kick! I was bleeding everywhere. Jake rushed toward me. A knife cut my lip. I whimpered. I was limp in Jakes arms.

"I had enough time with you. Go ahead and go to your real houses. But I'll be back." Henry slapped me one last time. We rushed to our car and got in. We drove for a few minutes before I saw my house. I jumped out of the car. I looked at the driveway. The cracked ground, the green weeds, the jagged rocks. I knew I was home.

I know. It's really bad. Normally kidnappers don't let them go. But whatever. I'll have a nice fuzzy and warm chapter next time. Lol -Ella
