Hoseok was walking outside, music blasting into his ears. It was currently raining, and he was feeling terrible.
He absolutely hated it when people saw the weaker side of him. His other friends, Namjoon and Yoongi, only knew him as the cheerful Hoseok, who worked at a flower shop.
But now Jimin had seen him at his worst, and he hadn't talked to him in a while.
                              Did I mess everything up?
Hoseok had actually hoped that the friendship between him and Jimin would work out, but he had to go and fuck everything up.
It's been a while since you've called, and I'm speaking with a ghost now, and wondering how to make this right.
Hoseok absolutely hated it when he listened to a song, and the lyrics described his very situation.
And he hated it when they made him cry.
After all, it was just a series of noises made by instruments, and lyrics written by heartbroken rockstars. It was stupid to cry.
But now, as he walked in the rain, he could feel the tears and the droplets of rain beginning to mix together on his face.
And I spent that week, trying to find you out, every night, every night it feels the same. What did you expect that night, driving by myself? Every night, every night it feels the same.
Hoseok started to run, the feeling of his feet pounding down on the pavement, and the water splashing up at his shins, distracted him from everything he was feeling.
It distracted him from the outside world.
The scenery of the multiple trees planted along the road, passed by him in a blur, and he could start to feel the familiar burn in his lungs.
Eventually he lost track of how long he was running, and how far he had gone, but he was suddenly stopped in his tracks by slamming head on into another person.
He felt the air getting knocked out of his lungs as he fell backwards onto the sidewalk, the rain starting to come down harder.
And out of all the chances in the damn universe, it was Jimin standing there in front of him, recovering from the body slam.
They both just stared at each other in silence, Hoseok gazing up at him from his current spot on the ground, and Jimin looking down at him, shocked.
Hoseok watched Jimin quickly flick out his tongue, wetting his parted lips, and Hoseok suddenly had the overwhelming urge to kiss him.
                              But he didn't.
                              "Hey."
                              "Hi."
Jimin laughed nervously. "Sorry about running into you." He reached out his hand to help Hoseok off the ground, and Hoseok gratefully accepted it.
"I should've watched where I was running." Hoseok replied, putting on a fake smile.
Jimin smiled back, starting to walk down the street.
"You going this way?" Hoseok nodded in response, following Jimin as he walked towards the shopping center.
They both walked in silence, neither of them saying anything.
Then, Hoseok realized that he still had his ear buds, and decided to share the other one with Jimin.
Jimin placed it in his ear, as Hoseok pressed play on a new song he absolutely loved at the moment.
I want you, and I need you. Nothing comes close, to the way that I mean to you, I wish I could feel your skin. And I want you, from somewhere within.
Jimin smiled softly. He remembered Jungkook, his ex-boyfriend, showing him this song when they were still together.
It was nice to experience it with someone new, someone who meet more to him then Jungkook ever did.
Jimin figured it was time to move on.
It feels like there's oceans between me and you once again. We hide our emotions under the surface, and try to pretend.
Hoseok watched Jimin's expression as they listened to the song, his face first going from sad, to happy once again. It made Hoseok feel happy that he could make someone else feel better.
"Jimin?" Hoseok asked, as he stopped walking, and fully faced Jimin.
                              "Yeah?"
Hoseok bit his lip, taking in Jimin's appearance. He looked tired, yet joyous at the same time. Dark shadows lived under his eyes, which seemed to light up when he smiled. His brown hair swept over his eyes, dripping with rain water, and his eyes still crinkled a bit, even when he wasn't smiling.
Then Hoseok felt a familiar pang in his gut.
He was starting to fall in love again.
I know what you deserve, and I'd rather drown, then to go on without you, but you're pulling me down.
Hoseok laughed. "Never mind. I forgot what I wanted to say."
It feels like there's oceans between you and me, once again.
