Jamie
Its been a week since Valentine's day and the high still hasn't worn off. I don't know what it is about her but I'm falling for her harder every single time I see her. It doesn't help that she's been invading my thoughts either.
"Jamie! Come eat!" shouted my mom from downstairs.
I quickly turned off my galaxy tablet and made my way downstairs. The conversation was the same as always, just talking about our day.
"So, Jamie. Is there anything I should know about you and Saxen?" I almost choked on my drink and looked at my dad as he casually ate.
"Uhm n-nope." I sputtered out and tried to distract myself with my peas.
"Oh please, I may be old but not that old." my mom says with a smile on her face.
"I swear, there's nothing going on between us." I tried to answer with a straight face.
"But you wish there was." my dad pointed out
"Honey, we hope you know that we don't care that she's a girl."
I couldn't help but smile at this.
"I just don't think she's that good of an influence on you." aaannd my smiles gone.
"What?" I breathed out
"You've been staying out later than you usually do and your attitude has totally changed since you started hanging out with her." he said
"Maybe it's because I'm happier now that she's around." I drew out.
"Aha!", my mom was now pointing at me with the biggest grin.
"So you do like her." I turned crimson at this. I had been caught.
"Okay fine." I say throwing my hands up. "I like her." I huffed and crossed my arms.
The rest of dinner went on to be similar to this. Me getting interrogated by my parents about my new found girl crush. Afterwards I headed upstairs to take a quick shower. Before I could head to the bathroom I heard the familiar chime alerting me of a new text. I picked up my phone and found myself smiling when I saw Sax's name flash.
Sax: Hey baby ;)
Jamie: You're such a nerd lol
Sax: You love it
Jamie: As much as I do, I hae to shower :P I'll call you after kay?
I didn't wait for a response and just tossed my phone on the bed while grabbing all the stuff needed for a shower.
..........
I swear I took a shower in record time. After getting dressed I jumped on my bed and immediatley click on Sax's name then pressed call. The phone rang for what seemed like an eternity.
"Hey baby! What's up?" I couldn't help but laugh when she called me that.
"Since when was I your baby?"
"Since now." she responded followed by a laugh
We talked for hours before we decided to get some rest for school. After she had hung up I looked at my phone.

I sighed to myself remembering that next week was my 14th birthday. Al's is next Tuesday and mine is next Thursday. That means Wednesday was our combined birthday party. Sax had already told us that she couldn't make it which was a total bummer for me. Hopefully it'll still be as fun.

Next Day
"I'm telling you, the security guard and Ms. O'Neal are totally doing it." Al said as we were walking with Sax to Band from homeroom.
I rolled my eyes as Al swears that these rumors are true. We walked into the band room and went our separate ways to our sections to set up.
We did our warm ups then sat quietly as Mr. Dolton started to tell us about our upcoming concert that was tomorrow.
"Saxen, is what you and Natalie talking about so important that you need to discuss it now?" Mr. Dolton asked in the middle of his lecture and all eyes were on Sax.
"Nope." She replied popping the p as she turned her gaze to me and sent a wink.
I swear the things this girl does to me should be illegal.
The rest of the day went on as normal as it could be and so did the day after. Before I knew it, it was the day of the concert.
All the band kids were wearing our maroon, black and white band jackets while the orchestra dressed classy.
We were currently in the band room getting everything ready. Mr. Dolton was going section by section to tune the instruments.
He stopped at the flute section and shouted for everyone to be quiet.
"Sax, play a b flat." Mr. Dolton said as he watched her fingers instantly go to there positions.
The sound that came out wasn't very pretty.
"Come on Sax, pucker your lips like your gonna kiss somebody." He said smiling.
"Yeah Sax, like your gonna kiss somebody." Al teasingly called out.
"You'd like that wouldn't you?" Sax shout back sending a wink her way.
Gosh that wink of hers is a crime.

The concert went by amazingly and now everyone was meeting up with their families.
Al, being the lucky bitch she was, had already found her family and said her goodbyes.
"Is your Uncle here?" I asked Sax as we made our way through the crowd.
"He was but he went to the car to beat the crowd." She replied with a smile.
"You did great honey!" Came the voice of my mother as she enveloped me in a hug and kissed my cheek.
"Mooom." I whined.
"Afraid she'll embarrass you in front of your girlfriend?" Then there's my dad.
I turned redder than red as he said that.
"So you're Saxen huh? We didn't really get introduced last time." My dad turned to Sax and offered his hand which she accepted.
"Yes sir, but I'm afraid that she's not my girlfriend. Yet." She said with a grin.
Wait. Yet? What. The. Hell.
My dad let out a laugh as their hands separated.
"Nice. I like you already."
"I'd love to stay and chat but my ride's waiting for me. It was nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs. Datcher." She said as she turns to me.
"Please, call us Emily and John." My mom says before Sax says anything else and she just smiles and nods.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Sax says as she gives me a hug.
"Alright. Love you!" I shout as she walks away. Only to turn and shout it back.
I turn to see my parents with a smug look on their faces.
"Just friends my ass."
