Chapter Three

Jamie

I walked through the front doors of the school with Sax on my mind since last night. It actually wasn't just since last night but since I first met her, maybe it was the fact that the sound of her could lighten up any ones day. I shook my head in an attempt to free my mind of her. As I made my way the stairs I noticed Al, Lucas, Lareyne and Calvin hanging around the front of the library. Calvin was the first to notice me so smiled and waved at me.

"Morning Jamie." he said as I joined their little circle. I just smiled and nodded my head towards him to let him know that I acknowledged his greeting.They continued on with their conversation as I stood there trying to look interested until I felt someone nudge me. I turned to see Al looking at me with concern.

"Hey, are you alright?" she asks, Al and I have been friends since forever but weren't really that close since recently.

"Yeah, I'm just tired as hell." I say with a smile as she just laughs, that's when the warning bell rang signalling that we had 5 minutes to get to homeroom

Since it was Monday everyone went to homeroom for attendance and then were dismissed for club activities. I headed straight to the field for free play soccer after going to the locker room to change into my P.E. uniform. Once I was there I saw Al jog over to me.

"Ready to kick some ass?" she says with grin as everyone is separated into two teams. "Hell yeah, let's do this" I say as the whistle was blown and the game began.

After the game we all headed to the locker room to get changed for 1st period. Of course Al and I had our lockers right next to each other since our last names both started with D.

"Hey Jamie, have you seen Sax? She usually plays soccer with us, we almost got killed out there without her." Al asks as I pull my shirt over my head.

"Nope, I haven't seen her since last night." I say as I shove my right then my left leg into my dark blue skinny jeans. As I pull my pants up I turned and noticed that Al had a grin on her face. "Why are you looking at me like that? It's kind of creepy to change with you staring at me like that." I say with a laugh.

"What were you two doing last night?" she says with a suggestive tone. I turned beet red at what she was implying.

"Oh shut up, I'm straight and plus, all we did was study." I say as I gather the rest of my stuff. "I don't think you'll be straight for long after hanging out with her, I mean have you seen that girl? She's probably got some secret underground fan club."

"Why don't you date her then?"

"Because my best friend likes her."

"I bet she does." I say

"So you do like her."

I turned to look at her when I heard the seriousness in her voice. I looked her straight in eyes. "Honestly, I'm not sure Al." she looked pleased with my answer because she went back to her things and we hurried to band.

The first thing I did when I got to band was look around the room for the head of dyed red hair and to my disappointment she wasn't here either. I just got my clarinet together and did my warm ups as usually and waited for the day to go by.

P.E. , Humanities and Lunch went by fast and before I knew it I was sitting in science alone. I kept looking at the empty chair as if Sax would just magically appear next to me. I went back to taking notes when I heard the classroom door open, I didn't bother looking up until I heard the chair next to me get pulled out. I looked up to see Sax smiling down at me. I couldn't help but smile back.

"Hey there gorgeous." she said as she sat down, I couldn't help but blush at that even though she flirts with everyone all the time.

"Why are you late?" I ask as pulls out her notebook that know was full of doodles. She remained quiet until she the teacher was distracted.

"Oh you know, yolo." I couldn't help but laugh at that lame excuse. "Excuse me but would you like to share what's so funny with the rest of us?" asked Mr. Haller. "Not at all sir, do continue with the lesson." replied Sax as he turned back to the bored and wrote down some stuff. 

"You kiss ass." I say to her but all she does is stick her tongue out at me and I can't help but find that cute as hell.

"Hey, do you wanna hang out after school?" she asks out of nowhere. "Uhm, sure why not?" I say as she started smiling. Soon after the bell rang and we got up to got to our last class of the day.

"Alright, I'll see you after school." she says as we go our separate ways. I walked to my math with a smile plastered on my face. I couldn't wait for school to be over.
