Chapter Two

Saxen

It's been two and a half weeks since winter break and since then I noticed that I have P.E. with both Al and Jamie, also that Jamie was in my science and band class. Other than that, I've also started to embrace homosexuality which just causes more problems for me. I was currently walking to school in the rain with memories of this morning flooding through my head.

*CRACK*

The sound of the slap echoing throughout the house. My cheek still stinging from the force of the hit, "How dare you even stand in front of me when you can't even do anything right! You're a worthless piece of trash and just a stupid mistake I made!" he yelled with his voice full of anger.

I just stood there taking everything he said knowing that anything and everything I say would just make things worse. Looking over to the right where what used to be a bottle of beer lay smashed and scattered all over the ground. "I'm sorry, I should of known that you wanted a cold beer." I whisper hoping he would hear."Just get the fuck out of my face." and I did as told and left for school.

Which brings me to where I am now soaked with rain and 2 hours late for school. By the time I got to school it was time for P.E., 'Thank god, dry clothes.' I thought to myself as I stripped down from my wet clothes and changed into my gym shirt and shorts. I quickly went to the mirror to examine myself, I noticed that the swelling on cheek was going down. Along with that my arms and legs were covered with cuts and bruises but thank god everyone thought those were from skateboarding. When I was finished I jogged out of the locker rooms and into the gym and handed Mr. Ronald my excuse slip while everyone else was about to head outside to do laps. I felt and a hand on my shoulder and turned to meet Al's blue eyes.

"Hey, where were you this morning?" she asked. "I woke up late." I said quickly as I start to jog away in hopes of avoiding questions.

After P.E. I went to math but didn't really pay attention, then came lunch but I went to the library instead just to avoid people. After the bell that signaled the end of lunch rang I packed my stuff up and started to head towards science. As soon as I stepped inside there was a screen with a seating arrangements, I quickly scan it to find my name and noticed that I was seated next to Jamie. I couldn't help but smile a little. I took my seat that was near the back and not long after Jamie walked in and did the same.

"Hey there, I haven't seen you all day." she said with a little grin. "Why missed me?" I say with a small smile not really being in the mood. She seemed to have noticed this because her smile quickly turned into a look of concern.

Class went by slowly and with 15 minutes left I had nothing but doodles written down, "You can't really study those can you?" Jamie said as she looked over my paper.

"Why would I need to study?" I ask with confusion, "We have an assessment this Friday, remember?" She says and smiles as my expression turned into one of panic. "Fuck, I forgot." I say with a sigh.

"Hey, why don't you come over to my place? I can help you with your notes." she asks.

"That sounds great, wanna walk home?" I ask.

"Yeah, sure."

"Okay I'll see you after school then." I say as the bell rings and we go our separate ways. 'That kinda just made my day better' I thought to myself.

I went to my fifth period class and sat there doodling on the edge of my paper. As I finished up the last touches to my superman drawing I leaned back in my chair to admire my work. In the bottom left hand corner of my paper was batman and to the right was superman. I looked up to notice that we were in the last minute of class so I started to pack up my things. Once I was done I walked down to the stairs and waited for Jamie outside her math class.
