"He seems nice," Miriam jumps on the double bed, taunting me, "I've always wanted a man who'd call me their Queen."
"Shut up." I frown, putting my hands on my hips defensively, "And since when do you know Lupin?"
"He was by the bar when dad was getting the keys. He said I looked like you a bit, then I said you were my sister." She shrugs. I open my suitcase, and take out my rather tattered second hand edition of Les Miserables, "What are you doing?!"
"Hey!" I yell as she grabs it from my hand.
"I refuse to spend the day before the first of September listening to you raving on about Grantaire's love for Enjolras!"
"It's true love!"
"They only hold hands!" Miriam shrieks.
"Moments before their deaths!" I pout, and she knows that she's won, "What do you even want to do that's so important?"
"Can we go around Diagon Alley." She does those puppy dog eyes, pouting.
Well, it's better than being in the same place as the Marauders.

I leave my scarf in the room and tell mum and dad where we're going while I wait for Miriam to get changed. We meet at the top of the landing, "Is that mine?!"
"Yeah." She twirls around in MY burgundy cloak, "Sorry, couldn't find mine."
"Fine. I expect it to be returned to me in one piece." I bound down the stairs, not waiting for her to follow. I quickly look around the main area, and to my delight, there is not a single Marauder in sight.
"Your boyfriend isn't here."
"Boyfriend?" The disgust is just dripping from the word as I turn to give a look to Miriam, not bothering to stop.
"Yeah, your Knight in Shining Armour." She giggles. I stare deadpan at her until she blurts, "Sorry sorry, I meant Mr Lupin."
"I hope I don't see them until school quite frankly."

The journey to Diagon Alley is a short one. The lady at the bar who have us our keys takes us into the alleyway, and after a few quick taps on random bricks with her wand, let's us through into a bustling street, "Door's open anytime till five, just tap the green brick three times and say Leaky Cauldron."
"Thanks." I smile as the door closes up behind us, the portal-thing becoming a brick wall with a single green brick again. Turning to my sister, I sigh, "I sure as Hell hope we don't forget where the door is."
"You will," she states in a matter-of-factly manner, "but I won't."
"As if..." I mutter, "Where d'you wanna go?"
"Umm Eeylops?" She bounces on her toes.
"But we've got an owl."
"A family owl. He's tattered and I'm not sure how long that poor thing can last." She begs, "Plus who said anything about buying?"
"Fine," I sigh, "but we go into Flourish and Blotts after."
"You drive a hard bargain."
"Take it or leave it sweetie." I flash a grin.
"Fine, deal."
The moment we step into Eeylops it's chaos. There are feathers fluttering everywhere, and within moments one gets into my mouth. Miriam is a bit more preoccupied with squeeling at the little baby owls in the little baskets beside the counter to notice the feathers sticking out of her mess of brown curls, "Look at those cute fluffy things!"
