ZOYA AHMED - POINT OF VIEW:
Waking up the next morning I took a shower and dressed up in a simple Anarkali dress.
When I was ready I took a last glance of me in the mirror after taking on my sandals with heels as they was the only which matched perfectly.
Taking my phone I walked out and locked the room. I made my way to the stairs when my eyes landed on the full length window in the wall where I could get a breathtaking view of Dubai.
I looked around when I noticed the beach and the big buildings. I smiled at the view and then went down to the restaurant room in the hotel where we eat breakfast.
I walked in to find uncle, aunty, dad, Ishaan bhai and Zeeshan talking to each other.
I said my salam and morning to everyone and sat next to aunty as uncle and dad was sitting so they was fronting each other and I and aunty on one side while the brothers on the other side. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone so I just kept quiet and soon the breakfast came and we ate.
I took a sip of my orange juice when aunty spoke.
"Mash Allah dear this is looking very beautiful on you" she said pointing at the locket and earrings I was wearing.
"Thank you aunty it's really very beautiful, you have a nice choice" I said and she gave me a smile before looking in the other direction and then smiled even wider. What's in her mind?, there is definitely something I don't know! I was almost facing the thing aunty was looking at when uncle spoke.
"Ishaan, Aryan and I have an important business call we have to attend later. I am leaving you here, so take care of everything" he said and bhaiya nodded.
I looked at dad when I noticed him looking in my direction. He gave me a smile and I returned him the gesture.
After eating the breakfast everyone got up and went to the couch.
I was walking to the couch when dad called me out "Zoya" I turned around to face him "yes dad" I asked.
"Come here" he said leading me to the couch beside the window, we sat down and he spoke "are you okay dear?" I looked at him and found concern in his eyes. I didn't say anything but nodded. "Dear I know all these thing you have been through have been very overwhelming and now we are here, I know you need time and I will try my best. Today will be my last business meeting while being on this holiday and then I will spend all my time with you, okay?" he said and I looked in the other direction not wanting him to see my tear.
I felt warmth on my hand and realised that he was holding my hand "I am sorry Dear, I haven't been the father you dreamt of having, I never fulfilled my responsibilities for you, I am sor-" he said when I cut him by saying "No don't be sorry, nothing was your fault, please don't say sorry, you did fulfill your responsibilities you tried and that's enough for me, who said that you didn't?" I asked wiping away his tear while trying to hold my own.
He looked in a direction and I looked where he was looking to find uncle, aunty, bhaiya and Zeeshan laughing while having a memorable time together. "Dear when I look at them I realise how bad a father I am" he said and I shook my head "Dad everyone have their own way to view love and that's the same in our case, the difference it just I can feel the care you have for me while other people try to tell how much they care. It's different" I said while hugging him. "Dad you never failed you are the best! I can feel the concern and love you have for me! you never failed being a good father, you was the one who helped me recover the broken of me, you brought the shattered me back when ...!" I said pulling away and wiped my tears and his not wanting to remember the painful past.
