"Hey Josh." I greet as I step into the house.
"Hi." I hear him call from the lounge. I walk in to see him lying on the couch with Becca curled up on his lap.
"Hey Becca." I say hugging her as I pass.
"Right what's wrong with you?" She asks sitting up and patting the seat next to her. I sigh and sit down.
"Nothing really just things at school."
"Girl chat?" She questions. I nod my head, looking down at my fingers as I twist them in my palms. "Right then. Josh out." I laugh at her bossy tone, her finger pointing at the door.
"Hey! Last time I checked this is my house." He protests shaking his head.
"Yeah and it's hers too." She argues pointing at me with her thumb. So I don't even have a name. Nice.
"No. She's my little sister. Do I need to beat Luke up for you?" He asks ignoring Becca who is pushing against his chest with all of her strength.
"Please."
"Fine. Only because I love you." He plants a kiss on her lips, pulling Becca into his chest. I roll my eyes.
"Eww gross. Keep it in the bedroom." I laugh. Becca giggles as Josh runs out of the door into the kitchen. He's always hungry. I see the adoration in Becca's eyes as she turns to face me again.
"What's up darling?"
"Luke. Today he kicked Adam off the team. I have a strange feeling that he's hiding something. He came up with the lamest excuse ever for kicking him off. He doesn't look intimidating? Like what the hell and then he said that he's been missing loads of goals. But I've been watching Adam play. Now they're going to fight and I don't know what to do." I rant, I didn't notice that tears were spelling down my cheeks until I stopped shouting. Becca stays silent as if not sure what to say. She hugs me while I cry.
"I've never met Luke but he'd be mad if he didn't love you. And I know for a fact that Adam does. Don't you stress. It's their problem they're boys and they'll work it out." She says still hugging me.
"They keep on blowing me off as well they're never around."
"Spend time with you girlfriends. You've still got Leah and Charlotte and if you ever need to talk you've got my number." I nod my head and pull back from the hug.
"Thank you Becca."
"You need cheering up. Conveniently my cousin, Caroline is having a party this evening come along. Invite Leah and Charlotte. We're leaving at eight, so we're there by nine." I smile.
"I will go and phone them." I say turning to leave the room. Stopping in my tracks I spin back round. "Josh you can come back in." Nothing. "I know you can hear me because you've been listening through the door." Becca and I giggle as a red, guilty looking Josh slumps back in the room. Caught red handed. "Honestly you thought I wouldn't know?"
I go upstairs and plug my phone in to charge. Glancing at my alarm clock I realise that it's 5:30 now, I guess that conversation took longer than I thought. I grab a towel and my dressing gown from my cupboard along with my wash bag from my desk and step into the shower.
I watch as the water falls down the drain. Followed by shampoo bubbles. As the hot water massaged and relaxed my muscles I felt all of my problems momentarily slip away down the drain.
Slipping my underwear and silky, lacy, black dressing gown on I walk down the stairs to start dinner. My hair is left down letting it dry in a soft cascade down my back. I boil the pasta deciding to have spaghetti Bolognese. I brown the mince and chop the vegetables.
