Valka's POV

"No Merida dear,like this"I said while switching the sticks.

"Isn't it th' same thin'?"

"No dear the sticks are different"

"How can ye tell?"

I stayed quiet as I watched Merida trying to see the difference.

"Because the knots are small,they're suppose to be puffy small"

"Oh an' how yer suppose to remove it?"

"We should start all over"I said while grabbing two other sticks and wool.

Merida winced but started all over again,while watching carefully what she was doing.

That's good, she at least takes this seriously.

I backed away and grabbed a small booklet and quill.

I wrote small things and made lists as I watched her make a small wool blanket.

"The mood swings are going to come stronger so will the pain"I said making her stop and nod.

"Thank ye Valka"

"Your welcome dear"

She went back to her work and I closed the booklet.

"Do you also want to learn how to do different hairstyles,in case she's a girl?"

"Please"

"In another three to four months we'll see if it's a boy or a girl"

"How are we goin' to be able to tell?"

"There's a small detail that helps us signify them"

"Oh okay"

Merida's POV

I'm trying my best not to yell in frustration.

This is so confusing, especially the wool blanket.

I mean they both look the same, they both feel the same, and they have the same color.

Don't see what's the small fuss about.

My eyebrows knit together as I saw a big bump on the blanket making me touch hit and see that I had to go with another loop near it.

I grabbed it and tugged at it and then put the stick through the wool that had wool at the end,like a needle.

Wonder why they don't have needles.

"Take it slowly darling"Valka said making me push my hair back.

The pain is faint but still its unbearable.

"Maybe we should pause and show you how to do hairstyles"Valka said while grabbing the wool and placing it down in a basket.

Everything's inside baskets,big ones,medium ones,small ones,ones that hardly look like baskets.

"I left the pins and holders inside, let me go get them"Valka said softly making me nod and watch her leave.

I glanced at a box that wasn't far away making me smile and get up.

I pushed the box gently and picked up my bow and arrows.

Can't belive Valka didn't see them, neither did Hiccup.

There's a small forest that I want to go see after this.

Maybe I can shoot some arrows,I put them away after hearing footsteps,I quickly put the box in place and sat down,earning a slight back pain.

Valka entered and had a small basket,again with the baskets.
