Suddenly my eyes flickered open. I was inside the girls' dormitory in the Slytherin common room. Except everything was white.
"Oh thank god, it was only a dream," I breathed. But why was everything white? Bellatrix probably hexed it, I assured myself feeling around the bed. I got up and looked at myself in the mirror. I was young again! A tear trickled down my cheek. It was only a bad dream. I was so relieved.
I have to go tell Sirius I love him I decided. Climbing up the stairs from the dungeons I was suprised to find that there were no stray students roaming around. Odd. But before I could mull over that I heard something coming from my right.
"Tori," came Lily's voice. "You're finally here! We've been waiting forever." Had I overslept or something?
"Hi," I waved running towards them. "I had the most drreadful dream."
"We thought it had been a dream too when we first arrived," James replied calmly.
"So-so I'm-" I started dreading the answer.
"Dead," Sirius finished. I hadn't noticed him before, or Tonks who had her arm around Remus.
"So this is-?"
"Yes," Remus and Tonks said together.
"You must tell us everything!" Lily seemed pretty jolly for being dead. "Remus and Tonks told us everything they lived through and so did Sirius." Well, if I was dead, I'd make the best of it.
"Can we find someplace more comfortable to talk?" I asked sniffing back a tear. Honestly, I just wanted to hold off telling them for a while. I needed to grasp this.
We walked through the halls into the Gryffindor common room and sat down. Sirius had been quiet and distant the whole way there.
"First things first," Remus and Tonks sat next to each other. "How did you die?"
"I-I killed myself," I stammered, not sure how they'd take my answer. "I just couldn't take it, being the last one of us..."
"We understand," Sirius said soothingly stretching out on a couch. I think he was still a little miffed at me for what I'd said.
"How is Harry?" James asked. "We haven't seen him around here yet."
"He has a few children and is married to the Weasley girl umm Ginny," I felt crowded by all their questions.
"Now one thing," it was my turn to ask a question. "Why am I young again and at Hogwarts?"
"It's because when you die you go to the place and time you were happiest," Sirius explained and looked around. "Which, I guess, is this."
"Oh wait," Tonks shot up. "Tori, we haven't told him yet. We wanted you to be able to tell him yourself."
"Tell me what?" Sirius snapped. Everyone looked confused as to why Sirius was suddenly mad.
"We had a fight, that was the last time I saw him," I closed my eyes wearily. There was a collective ohh as the group started to understand.
"Yeah and, Tori, I did die. Did that finally make you happy?" he crossed his arms and glared at me. I felt instanely guilty.
"Actually Sir, after that all I could think about was you and how I didn't say I loved you. I am truly sorry," I pleaded. His glare softened. "Please believe me. I was just really mad."
"Give me one good reason."
"First of all, you totally kicked me out of our house, left me penniless and.. and," I wasn't sure if this was a good time to tell him.
"And what Tori?"
"And you left me pregnant and at the moment I hated you for that," His mouth gaped open but he caught himself.
"Y-you were pregnant?" I had started to cry; I just couldn't help it.
"Yes," I stammered. "And you had left me homeless and penniless."
"I never knew..." he breathed then got up and put his hands on my shoulders. Suddenly he was full of questions. "Was it a boy or a girl? When is it's birthday? What is it's name?"
"It's a boy born on June 7th. Named Rhett Carlston Black," He let go of me and rushed over to James and Lily.
"I'm a bloody father," he cried collapsing back on his couch. I was still crying, but mostly because I was extremely happy now.
I stood up and smiled at my old group. So did Sirius. He put his hands on the sides of my face and kissed me. No more hiding, no more death, just happiness.... forever.
Forever with my Sirius.
The End
