Kyles PoV (first person, present tense)
I can't stand my father, and he's gotten me so angry that I know he won't even be able to spend another minute anywhere near him. I wouldn't even be spend my afternoon in the same building as him never mind sit in the same room as him. Father is always so worked up, so full of rage, so outrageous in what he says, 10 minutes in his company is making me bitter and angry just like him. I have to get away from him, even if it's just for a few hours.I go downstairs to fetch some samples of our food from the kitchens, Advertising is the part I love most about my job. I set up small stalls in streets for people too try the food we sold in our restaurant, I am quite persuasive and can usually get people to book a table that day. I think I'm quite good at advertising to be honest. Our sales are rising continuously. It was my idea that we start to open up restaurants in other cities. We have even opened up one on a ferry, which brings in quite a bit of money from the rich travellers. We now also have our restaurant in 2 other cities.
'I'm going out,' I announce to my father.
'Monday's and Tuesday's are your days to advertise.'
There's nothing to prove that, it's not like it's written down. I'm gunna go now, k? See you.'He speed walked angrily down the path, swinging the case as if it didn't weigh anything. He had to work of some of his rage against his father.
Michael was a really, really hard man to work for, and was never pleased with anything Kyle did. In fact it was more the opposite. Whatever Kyle even tried suggesting, it was rejected because "grandfather didn't do it, so why should we."
Father was always telling him how he'd taken over the business when he was twenty, and pointed out the now Kyle was twenty and a grown man he should be capable of doing more. Yet he was allowed no responsibilities of any sort. It was do this, do that, and no, I don't want you too meddle and change things.
Father oversaw everything, including the advertisement. He'd given Kyle a book in which he'd organised which part of the city he was supposed to work in each day. He thought Kyle should make at least six visits each time he went out selling they're home branded food. Damn it some visits took much longer than others. Even father couldn't alter that.
