My friend Shelby and I were talking in the school. Shelby had light green eyes; straight, long, blonde hair and pretty, plain features. She and I have been best friends since we were kids. Shelby was born deaf which made talking fun and her company was very comforting.
"Why doesn't she just leave you alone?", she signed.
You must be wondering what were talking about. This bitter bitch named Shala continuously bullies me. No I don't mean the typical high school bitch shit she physically dragged me by the hair from the locker room in the middle of changing and hung my clothes on the flag pole I stood naked waiting for the school to get them for me and then she claimed I did it for attention. That lifeless, soul-sucking whore climbed her way to power I this food chain and I could have cared less if she bullied me but today was personal she called me a freak and my mute best friend whores because we were talking about Shelbys first experience with her boyfriend. She called us whores because I wouldn't tell her what we were talking about. Pety bitch.
Shelby we have been best friends since you were born. What she says to me doesn't matter it pisses me off that she had the gaul to think anything like that of you. I can garuntee when you tell Johnny about this he and E.J. are gonna get all up on her plastic ass for this. Regardless if she's a girl.
Speak of the devils. John was my brother older by three minutes. Star if the football, basketball, and baseball team and E.J. is his dreamy childhood and beyond bestie. Like Shelby and I those two are nearly inseparable. As they walked toward us.
Johnny has been trying to teach E.J. sign language since he wants to talk to Johnny's sister more often. I like to believe the real reason was to impress me but he didnt need to and I doubt it was true. We've been friends since middle school and shown no interest why now? Shelbys so lucky.
"How are you guys," he continues practicing his sign with it," I am trying to learn American Sign Language. Can you sign slower for me?"
"He is starting to get good," I said to Shelby.
"Let's hope he's doing this to impress you. I'm not interested in him." She said practically scowling. That made me smile and laugh and turn my attention towards E.J.
His dark brown, almost black hair was starting to grow out; his bright blue eyes were a thing I couldn't read. I loved his eye color when he was happy it was like a cloudless day in June and when he was upset or sad they would get a grayish blue like the sea after a storm. Ugh I would kill to kiss his red lips and hug his lean, tan body build.
Aside from the air getting humid from his presence I continued to talk to Shelby about my fathers dinner tonight.
My dad was coming home tonight for the first time in three years since his deployment to Asia. He had to fight and govern in Afghanistan and more recently Syria. He just reached the Secretary of Defense position and will be coming home before moving off to D.C. to talk about Isis and other stuff. I couldn't wait to see him home.
Afterschool I drove Shelby and I to the Mall to find a new outfit for her. Johnny has a special surprise for the dinner tonight for her anf asked me to make her look the best she ever has. He always found her most appealing in her sweats with no make-up but I thought otherwise for this occasion.
"Have you decided who you're taking to dinner tonight?" She asked.
I wanted to take E.J. but I'm afraid to get rejected. He's been over before but this occasion is special and it's inappropriate to make it about me.
When I got home my dad was already settled in on the couch in his new uniform talking with Johnny and Shelbys parents. My dad and Shelbys fad have always been close friends almost like brothers.
While that was going on I had gotten Shelby ready. She looked beuatiful in her one shoulder short green dress. Then we joined everyone for drinks in the sitting room. Since it was such a special occasion Shelby, Johnny and I were aloud to have wine. It was a refreshing change to drink with friends and family. After a while I hrard the doorbell. I got up an answered the door.
It was E.J. carrying a bag of ingredients and wearing a black button-up shirt that covered his muscles losely enough that only his broad shoulders were visible. My mom came in behind me and said that she'd invited him for dinner tonight and asked him to pick up a few things on his way.
He joined my family in the sitting room while I had helped my mom get dinner ready. I don't why but suddenly I had a bad feeling about tonight.
