Chapter 8 - The Bunkers
Stupidity is strong with Tom. Nade and Hector agree, so it must be true.
"And these are the bunkers. Well, the 'unclaimed' bunkers, the neutral bunkers or whatever. But, this are your temporary bunkers." Nade announced with lacing his words with a sly-attitude.
"Guessing from the word title 'bunkers' it's located underground?" I asked, trying to be logical.
"No, not really. The bunkers are located over the ground." Hector spoken up slyly. We started to walk into the large base. The base was pretty simple, stone brick walls and no windows. It was pretty small compared to the other bunkers (that we have saw from the outside).
We walked into the small building to be leading into a hallway. Oak planks floors with green carpet overtop. It was a short hallway with about 6 'cell' like bedrooms, 3 on each side of the hallway. The rooms were large enough to fit a twin side bed and a small closet in the corner. It comes with a shelf and a large chest (which is in front of the bed). There was a little of room to move in.
It turns out that Hector and Nade claim the 2 far rooms and they give me the room next to Nade's. It turned out to be the smallest room out of the 6, which kind of disappoints me because they think I don't need a big space to be in. I wasn't claustrophobic or anything, it was that I-- you know what, forget it.
"It's roomy, I guess." I sighed.
"Hey, cheer up. You're only going to be in this room for about 5 days, after 5 days you get to go to your parent's cabin and live on the luxury of the cabin!" Nade exclaimed as he faked a smile. It was pretty obvious that he's faking a smile, I guess the whole 'parent' thing is a sensitive subject to Nade.
I walked into the small room and sat on the bed, the bed was surprisingly comfy. It's probably like a cloud or something.
"It's a nice bed though." I admitted, as I stared at the floors. The floors have this thin layer of sand on the ground.
"Sorry about the sand, bud. There is a lot of beaches around, and you know. There's like new comers and stuff--"
"There are only 10 of us."
"Doesn't mean there could be more of us in the past." He's pretty much right at this point now. "Tucker has a brother who's a Demigod, and he's living in the Kingdom, helping out in the army."
"What kingdom?" I asked, narrowing my eyebrows.
"There's a land called Ruxomar, but it's not really important though." Nade mumbled as he "Shit. I need to check when my nightly duties are, and for you-- Novus. I'm pretty sure you don't get any duties yet until your choosing ceremony." With that Nade and Hector hurried off with whatever their stuff are.
Nade has a white hood, with an emerald green and black lacing around his hood, and his hood with up, with pale skin underneath. He has wolf grey scarf that was covering his mouth. His dark grey eyes, like coal grey. His skin was a pale tan, due to the fact he's pretty much covering everything, I suppose he's a little self-conscious about himself. He has black pants that fades to a dark grey at the bottom of the leggings. He has black & green hightops. He stood about 5'5 (he's an inch taller than me!)
As, Hector has almost the same hair colour like mines; except that it's more brown than black. His hair was slick to the side. He has the same coal grey eyes, like Nade. He has almost the same outfit as Nade but he has a white short-sleeve shirt that's laced with green and black. He has tan skin, unlike his 'brother'. Wolf grey sweats and black & green shoes. He stood 5'7 (dammit, why is everyone taller than me? Even Sonja is taller than myself!).
Both don't wear any armour, unlike the other 'demigods'.
They turned and walked off swiftly, kind of like they were kind of 'happy' to escape me. I stood awkwardly in the cabin, I didn't really know what to do. There was lunch, so maybe there was dinner. What time is dinner? Do I have any duties as well?
My thoughts were rudely cut off from a new set of footsteps, they continue walking through the echo hallways. It's probably either Nade or Hector going to their rooms to get something. The footsteps stopped and I felt the presense, I looked up seeing the blue hair hybrid. Tom.
"Oh, hey Sparkly Pants--"
"Tom, no offense. But don't call me that."
"I'm sorry." Tom murmured with a devious grin curved on his mouth. "Sparkly Dick." I wanted to slap him, hit him or even kick him. I just want to kill him, but I stopped myself.
"Whatever." I sighed in defeat, as I looked around my temporary bedroom or 'bunker'.
"Hey, Novus-- I mean Sparkly Pants. I was wondering if you could help me with stuff. Like, I still need to train to win the next purge--"
"So, you're going to use me as your target practice?"
"Pretty much."
"I don't know how to hold a sword, heck, for all I know; I haven't held one in my life."
"Don't worry, I'll just teach you the basics. Once I'm done teaching you the basics, I think it'll be Dinner by then. After Dinner, maybe I could help you with some other stuff that you need to do ... like maybe assisting me with some ... " I couldn't hear the rest of his sentence because he started to mumbled.
"Okay then... let me just look around my room." I replied as I got up from the twin size bed and went straight to the closet and opened it up.
"If I could rearrange the alphabet, I'd put U and I together." Tom mumbled softly.
"That's nice." I murmured as I noticed something I haven't seen when I was with Nade and Hector. They must've distracted me too much for me to notice. Maybe it was a secret or something, but I can check this out ... when Tom isn't here.
"On a scale of 1 to 10: You're a 9 and I'm the 1 you need." I heard Tom from behind me.
"Whatever." I sighed as I got up and turned to Tom, who was looking at the ground, looking red as a tomato.
"This place is more sand than the place my brother lives in." Tom murmured as he kicked the piles of sand at his feet and I immediately turned my head so the sand doesn't get in my eyes (it's pretty much common sense).
"It's a good place, though." I replied.
"Dianite's cabin is way better than this though! You should totally follow--"
"Tom, I'm not following Dianite just because of the luxury of cabin it has. I'm just ... I guess, simply waiting for the day when I get claimed by one of the gods, whatever god claims me: I guess I'll follow them."
"But there's only two gods, Mianite and Dianite. Either one is going to claim you, Sparkly Pants."
"But what about Nade and Hector? They told me they are the 'unclaimed'."
"I-I--- don't really know, actually---"
"Doesn't really surprises me to be honest."
"Seriously, why the fuck do you hate me so much?"
"I don't hate you. It's just, I have to be aggressive to even talk to you because of your stupid -- whatever you call it -- 'Dianite' nature. If I try to be myself-- oh darn it, what am I even saying!? I don't even know my own 'true' self. But I just know that I have to actually try to be rude to you, because-- I don't really know. You're just very-- I don't really know. Stupidity is strong with you."
"Listen Linda, Linda, Linda, Linda. Listen Linda. What about you don't go all into deep shit because I don't sign up for these type of shit. I'm just here to convince you into being Dianite no matter your parentage."
"Well, you're doing a very good job."
"Really?"
"NO!"
