Chapter 22 - The Complications of being ready
"Eripe me ab ipso sanguine erit," I heard Declan murmured in the ancient Latin language. My head was quick with the translation. And with the translation, I was quick to try to move to get Jordan out of the way. The translation was either "The ritual shall be completed by the blood of his," or "Deliver me from blood, shall be the same". Either way, it was awful. I flinched and went to try to grab Jordan out of the way. But Tony and Nade grabbed my shoulders / forearms to keep me still and not to interrupted with the ritual.
Quickly Declan slashed the blade toward Jordan's upper chest and with that Jordan gasped at the sudden attack and collapsed to the ground. I flinched visibly at the quick attack, and I let out a small gasp as well.
I saw the blood dripping down from Jordan's lower neck, I went to look away, and now I'm suddenly more interested in the dark walls.
"Habebit gradum ad animae pagina duo pariter manere fundatus rem." Declan announced, 'Two shall have to step up to link their souls together, for them to stay grounded to reality' is what I translated from the Latin Language. I saw Josh step up toward Declan, saying that he's willingly ready to be linked with Jordan.
I wanted to move to go and offer that I shall be the second one to be linked, I was the closest to Jordan so far. So it would've been more reasonable that I'm going to be linked with Jordan. I took a step forward, Champ grabbed my forearm by surprised and pulled me back with the others, 'No, don't do it', is what I thought of when Champ pulled me back from about to be the 2nd link to Jordan.
"I'm close to Jordan, it's only reasonable that I get to be the 2nd link." I suggested, as I tug my arm away from Champ's grasp.
"But me and Ryley do have a connection toward Jordan." Josh stated.
"And what's that?" I challenged, suddenly more courageous that I should be the second link. It makes more sense than Josh and Champ.
"Yesterday, I spoke to him." Josh quickly dismissed. Champ stepped up along with Josh. I was still not done with them, but I let them go through the rest of the ritual.
"Symfonía." Champ muttered in agreement, my head wasn't wrapped around the word that Champ has gracefully muttered. But I'm pretty sure it means 'Agreement' or some type of agreeing term.
"Ego sum primus," Josh read from the book that was placed on the table, Champ didn't look down to look at the table to read the book.
"Eímai i défteri," Champ spoke from the same language he has always spoken, Greek.
"Rieyleus, you must say it in the Latin verse." Josh reminded Champ softly in a whisper but I'm pretty sure everyone else heard it if I could hear it.
"Sygnómi." Champ muttered in apologize, as he muttered another Greek word underneath his breath.
"Ego sum primus," Josh started the verse. I couldn't translate it because of Josh's strong Greek accent, and he speaks quickly and he does have a mixture of an English accent so it messes it up.
"Et ego in altero," like I've said with Josh's. Champ had a strong Greek accent as well but he spoke in a normal speed. But I knew the second part was 'second'.
"Qui autem est in tertio? Quia mendax est, et non possumus." Josh announced in pride, as he grabbed the golden blade and he slice a bit of his palm and offered his blood over the goblet (where I presume it where Jordan's is as well). Champ did the same as well.
"Est tacens, qui relictus secreta audire?"
"Scisne? Ego enim annis."
"Wasawf hamayatuk, w naql almaswuwl jahdi l jush l fursatan 'ukhraa." Champ muttered quietly, only allowing me, Josh and Declan to hear his verse. I'm pretty sure that wasn't part of the ritual, but whatever. Maybe he's just giving Jordan good luck, yeah I'm pretty sure it's that.
