Chapter 23 - Food is Delicious

The rest of the day was depressing for me, after Sonja's boast about how stupid the ritual was, I considered her words but I've chosen to forget them and just ignore her complaints that it's wrong and idiotic.

All day I've did my chores. That's including helping with the farming crops, feeding the cows and pigs from the barn. And then go check up the lifeless bodies that were left in the altar room.

Jordan's body was placed on a stone table that was decorated with gold and silver. Josh and Champ were on a wooden table that was decorated with emerald and gold. I stepped up and listened to their bodies, checking if it's on track. Champ and Josh were breathing lightly, almost too lightly. As for Jordan, no beating of his heart yet. So he's clear off dead, unless he beats the ritual.

I've been through the ritual myself, and I was a couple days before Tom appeared. And I was surprised by everything, more clueless but reckless. Not being scared to ask about anything. In the coma-state I was appearing somewhere.

I remembered seeing Tom in the mid-state. Where Tom was killing someone, I can't remember who. But it was a guy, possibly a bit shorter than I am (I'm 6'1) but taller than Tom (5'9). And Tom was boasting about a guy named 'Jordan', and the guy said something about jealousy and envy and Tom straight out killed the guy. And then the next scene is where Sonja and another girl, they were preforming a ritual and something powerful was coming after them because they were rushing the ritual and trying to complete it. The girl told Sonja to complete the ritual, she'll distract 2 powerful things called Murdoch and Donovan. And then it'll change the scene again. Until I woke up from the ritual.

But those 2 scenes were the only scenes I could remember, I know there's still more. Like there's one about my brother, Jeriah, who has done something crucial and was put on trial. But everything else was a blur.

Walking out of the altar, and waking from my memories of the illusions, I headed to go check up on Sonja's chores. Just seeing if she has done them, if she didn't then I have to do them myself. But on a good note, I might be able to get extra coins when we go to Dagrun. There was this blacksmith in Dagrun that specializes in magical weapons, if I'm able to get a few extra coins I might be able to get the blacksmith to customize the weapon.

After doing the dishes (which was Sonja's original chore before dinner, I'm pretty sure she didn't do any of her after/before Lunch chores, I might have to do that after Dinner) I headed to the Dinner area, seeing that we already passed Lunch. It was already Dinner now, and I'm pretty sure I'm like 89% late to Dinner. As I walked to the Dining Area, I see Tom, Tony and Hector already done with their food. And just like I expected, Sonja wasn't there to greet us with her presence.

I settle down to my spot, luckily there was this magical enchantment over my food which keeps the food fresh and hot, sometimes I hate it. But at this very moment, I was very content about the situation and just ate my food silently. Mid-through eating, I realized that I have forgotten to offer up some portions of my food to the gods. Maybe they'll give me a 'freebie' day because I've done this offering to the gods every single day for 2 years.

Tom was being a goof of course, making up little jokes to piss off Nade. After his laughing matter he turned to me and asked, "Tucker, boy, do you want me to remove that stick up yer arse?" I was trying to keep a straight face because it sounded ridiculous with his English accent.

"No," I stared at my plate of leftover of mashed potatoes and carrots, "but I presume you want me to get you a tinfoil hat for your ridiculous ego?" I mimicked his English accent.

Tom stood out his tongue, kind of like he was teasing me in a childish play. I give him a questioning look, I sometimes wondered how he's going to survive in the world after he leaves this realm. But again, there's his father who'll give him a freeway to a wonderland.

Finishing my food, I was last one remaining at the table. I didn't finish my food, but all my food tastes like is metallic blood taste. So I've decided that I've ruined my own appetite with enough thoughts of the souls and blood and all. Sonja's plate stay remained, maybe I shall be nice and give her Dinner; since she has skipped Breakfast, Lunch and now Dinner.

I grabbed Sonja's plate, the bottom of the plate give off the warning that it's still hot. Sonja is kind of lucky that there's always a charm on the food to never cold-down and all.

The night was settling, and the buzzing noises of the fireflies are beginning to annoy me as I hurry to the Mianite Bunker.

Once I've arrived the bunker, I've noticed that the bunker was quiet. There was nothing coming up, no campfires, no late night lectures, the library that was available to us wasn't open at this moment, no dungeon raidings at this late at night and there was no announcements of travelling to Dagrun for trading and sorts. Which lead to the conclusion that she's sleeping or just occupied with whatever in her room. It's already past Dinner, so she can't leave the bunker and just wander around.

"Sonja?" I called out, I lead on the doorway to backroom. There was these 2 set of rooms, the front room was where I stayed because I follow Mianite. And the backrooms belong to Sonja because of her being the Daughter of Mianite. (And also Declan lived in his 'Mount Zhulu'). It seemed a little deserted in the Mianite bunker, there was only 3 children of Mianite to be born; which includes Declan and Sonja. The other Mianite child, is a son and he's also 3rd in Command of Mianite's followers. Of course, just behind a GOT.

I walked into the backroom, suddenly feeling a little adventurous going into the backroom. Sonja always would lock the backroom door before she goes asleep and she never lets me into the backroom. Well, her reasoning is very obvious. I'm a dude, she's a girl. And we're sharing a bunker together alone ... though she's very difficult and likes her space (though she's pretty nosy and enjoys drama).

I walked into the dark room, with curtains separating each little space for other (well future for sure) Mianite demigods.

"Sonja?!" I called out again, hearing my voice echoes around the empty room. I walked to the far corner on the right side, which I'm assuming is where Sonja sleeps. Mostly because I could feel her past-presence before then. Kind of like she left some of her aura has been left behind there.

The curtains were closed, kind of telling me that I'm not allowed in. I may be a douchebag, but I will respect her privacy so I slid the plate of her food (which I almost kind of forget I had in my foods, and I almost began to start thinking about the warm heat on my hands).

"Hey, Sonj. I have your food," I paused for a few seconds, "you forgot about Breakfast ... and Lunch," I took a deep breath, letting in the silence between us, "and also Dinner now. I think Tom would've eaten your food if I haven't attended Dinner myself. I almost skipped it as well--" I stopped myself, "you know, hm ..., I know you're sleeping and all ... but when you wake up you'll have your dinner. Think of it as a token of peace, y'know? But maybe you're right ... I should go to bed ... erm, good night Sonja."

I quickly escaped the backroom, suddenly feeling like I was out of place. But the feeling of adventure was still running in my veins. I ignore the feeling and going straight to my bed. Once my head hit the pillow, I've gone into the deep sleep mode.
