6 - In the Mind of an Aphrodite

There was a reason why I'm nickname as the 'Aphrodite' of the island. And it isn't because of my girly ways.

There was something absolutely different about this Novus. He seems to make Tom really happy, did Tom really like this guy? Like, Tom did admit that he thought that the Novus was 'hot'. But, Tom seem really happy around him. Even though, it was pretty obvious that the Novus kind of hated Tom in a way, must be hating for his annoying side of his personality. I can feel his sympathy.

At least, Tom isn't going to tease me and Tucker, since he'll be busy trying to win the Novus' heart or doing something else with his Dianitee and Unclaimed buds. Like, I really do like Tucker: but, I'm really scared of dating him. Like, he's a son of Dianite! DIANITE! While, I'm the daughter of Mianite, which doesn't make sense! A Dianitee and Mianitee CANNOT love each other, even though Tucker does follow Mianite . . . Wait, I can still date Tucker because of him following Mianite, right?

It's kind of confusing, like. Technically, I'm Tucker's Cousin: being that Dianite and Mianite are siblings. But, there's like this 'ancient' law that, I'm allowed to date Tucker. Because of this weird god reason, something like the Gods don't have DNA, meaning that I'm not related to Tucker in blood form. It's pretty difficult and complex stuff.

Finishing my mashed potatoes and my vegetables. I watched as Tom and the Novus started to argue about something stupid, I don't know, because I was stuck in my own world of thoughts. I was thinking of that stupid prophecy.

I live in the world of Mianite my entire life, when I was about 8 - 9, I heard of the great prophecy. It haunted me to this day, the words in my head repeating itself. Dad said that I'll have a huge part in the prophecy and I'll be in the 'plan'. I don't really know what Dad means, but that's all Dad said.

I remember having Declan to tell me, but he keeps on telling me in his drunk-ish slur words. I even asked him to write it down; but he has Dyslexia: which makes it more difficult to write and read. He knows Greek and Latin pretty well. But, the thing is. I don't understand Latin nor Greek.

Aequitate habeat vitam mutato peracta optionen praebet contrariam posse adpendit orbem minus quam a ictu.

I knew exactly what it meant because I would spend hours trying to figure out what the prophecy means. I think I have an unhealthy obsession of this prophecy.

"How can he finish 2 pieces of steak in under 1 minute?" The Novus asked, cutting off my thoughts. I looked up. I watched as the Novus look at Tom with amazement when Tom finished his streak in matter of seconds.

"Tom is like that, Tom is pretty impatient I guess. But I guess, since we had to skip breakfast because of your sudden appearance." Tony answered from the other side of the table.

"Not like we don't appreciate your sudden appearance. We don't mind having another step-brother or even an ally." Josh added, I knew exactly what he was trying to do. I needed this Novus on my side. Maybe, it'll help Tom to think twice with his future choices, like trying to prank me or ruin our sacrifices to my Dad.

"Yeah, I agree as well, Novus! I don't mind another step-brother or even an ally!" I stepped in, hoping that the Novus wouldn't mind joining Mianite.

"I guess, it's all depends on my parent really. If I do like their intentions to the world then I'll stay with their side." The Novus replied with an emotionless stare at his food. "So, I'm just going to stuck with neutral." He look at his half eaten plate with a disgusted look at his face.

"Don't worry dude, if Mianite nor Dianite claims you. Dianite would be happy to take you, he'll be happy that you're following him!" Tom replied.

"Hm, thanks. I'm just a little scared that I'm not going to be claimed by neither god." The Novus told worried.
