The time when Dunkin' Donuts presented their new designed cup for the holiday, it was also the time when the manager decided to let the employees decorate little bright lights hanging around the side that looks a continuous like waves around the place, and hanging cut-outs of snowflakes and stars from the ceiling making a nice winter vibe towards the customers.
It was the time when the cute old couple bundled in their coats and scarves, sitting on their usual spot, with hot chocolate on top of their table by the window as they talked about their naughty grandchildren last Christmas.
Then in the chilly night of Thanksgiving when Natalie and Harry invited Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, Nellie (Natalie's sister), Andrea, and Mr. Charlie at corner of Gail Street.
As they stand on the sidewalk in front of a dark house, Natalie is smiling as she waits patiently for Harry who runs inside.
Andrea in a Natalie and Nellie sandwich as she rests her head on her best friend's shoulder while Mr. Roberts standing next to Natalie, his arms draping over Mrs. Roberts, and Mr. Charlie looking around trying to see something but it was way too dark for his sight, his hands intertwine on his back with a small smile already imprinted on his face.
Then suddenly, bright and colorful lights dancing around the daycare which surprises everyone like Andrea, who is already fell asleep on Natalie's shoulder, her eyes widening in surprise as she slowly raises her head from Natalie's shoulder to see better. While Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, and Nellie jaws drop in awe. And Mr. Charlie bobbing his head in contentment of the lively surprise.
Two star lanterns by the windows, and Christmas jingles playing along with the Christmas lights decorated around the gutter of the roof. The abandoned and dark place before is now wrapped with brilliant colors.
By the dazzling lights, the silent street of Gail is brightened with the hymn of holiday. The neighborhood came out of their houses to witness the joy of the daycare. That brought smiles on to their faces, and cheerful admiration from the children's eyes. Everyone mouthed, 'Wow.'
Well, Mr. Charlie may have caught a glimpse of a lovely lady, who lives at the house next to the daycare, Mrs. Ellie. And he may have greeted her, "Happy holidays, lovely lady." That made Mrs. Ellie blushes.
The smell of love this holiday...
Harry went out then stood beside Mr. Charlie, draping his arm over him. Smiling in satisfaction while looking at their hard work, he glances at the direction of Natalie. Twinkling colors from the Christmas lights reflecting on her eyes makes it redundant to see, and a big smile on her face makes him proud of himself.
To the people around the new daycare, Harry and Natalie are a blessing by bringing life in their streets. But to Harry, Natalie is the blessing.
The day of Thanksgiving is happier than the past holidays, with the Roberts, Mr. Charlie, Andrea, and Harry.
While everyone in the huge living room, everyone is having a good chat and laugh.
"Excuse me, everyone." Andrea announces, standing, a glass of red wine in her hand. Then everyone stops and looks at the slightly drunk Chinese girl.
"To continue the happenings tonight, someone needs to keep the show going because all the past Thanksgiving, I may say, are 'blah'." Doing a thumbs down as she let her tongue out.
"But this night, is lit. Let us put our glasses up for Natalie's dream, for the Roberts family, for Mr. Charlie's love life and health, and for Harry's career ahead. Cheers!"
