Jacob and Kansas...

Chapter 5

"Jacob whoa, what's going on?" Kansas said as she stood there in a towel.

"Sorry, I had to see you," he said as he glanced at her. "Go finish."

She went up stairs to get dressed and came back down dressed.

"What's going on?" she said to him as she plugged in the hair dryer down in the living room.

"I don't know what to do or what's going on anymore," he said to her as he paced.

"What do you mean?" she asked as she sat there.

"I mean, how can he demand me not to talk to you anymore when I know I can't do that. Kansas if I lost you I don't think I could go on living," he said as he looked at her.

"Who said you can't talk to me anymore Jacob?" Kansas said as she stood up and made him stop.

"Edward," he said as he looked into her eyes. "Kansas I have to tell you something and I'm not sure how to or how it's going to sound. Please know that you are my friend and I don't want to lose you."

"Jacob, tell me because this right now is creeping me out," she said as she heard a knock on the door. She went to open it. "Um, hi?" she said.

"Hi, is Jacob here?" a guy said.

"Ah yeah. Jacob?" she said as she stepped back a little.

"Dude, really?" Jacob said to this guy.

"Dude, I'm just making sure you're safe," he said.

"Safe? Jacob what's going on?" Kansas said as she pushed the door open to stand in front of Jacob.

"Emmett, please go home. I'll be there in a moment I had to get away," Jacob said to him.

"Jacob, this isn't going to be pretty," Emmett said taking another glance at Kansas.

"What's going on?" Kansas said with a slight yell.

"Kansas, please stay in this house and don't leave until I get back in. I'll tell you later okay," Jacob said as she stepped out side with Emmett and shut the door. Kansas stood there confused but went to blow dry her hair. She knew Jacob wouldnt up and leave with out a good bye.

"Emmett, she doesnt know anything," Jacob said to him on the deck.

"Ah man, Jacob, she's hot!" Emmett said checking her out through the window.

"Emmett, dude, come on man, what are you doing here?" Jacob said pushing him a little to quit looking.

"Dude, Edwards pissed off that you are hurting Nessie. So I was told to make sure that nothing would happen to you or your friend," Emmett said as the dryer stopped. "She's done."

"OKay. Tell Edward I'll have a meeting with him and Bella tonight alright," he said to him as he stepped back to the door. Emmett nodded his head. "Kansas I'll talk to you later, gotta run!"

Before she got to the door Jacob already took off and no sign of the other guy Emmett.

"Whatever," she said as she shut the door and went into the kitchen to make lunch.

"Sam, I need to go on a run to think and clear some thoughts," Jacob said as he started to take his shirt off to get ready to go on a run.

"Gotcha. If anyone texts, want me to answer them?" Sam said to him.

"No. I'll be back, they can wait. If Kansas happens to stop by just keep it simple that i went on a run cool?" Jacob said as he shifted into wolf form. Sam nodded his head as Jacob took off on his run.

"Poor Jacob," Emily said to Sam as he walked in. She was finishing up making lunch and watched out the kitchen window.

"He's got it bad, just hope when the time comes he makes that right decision," he said as he started to eat.

"For you or for him?" Emily asked him as she sat down in front of him.

"She's alot better for him than the other," Sam said.

"Yeah, we say that now, but what happens when she finds out the truth of things?" Emily said reminding him that Kansas doesn't know what any of them are. Sam sat there thinking a bit, and nodded in agreement.

"Guess when the time is right, we'll know," he said as he took a drink with a smile at his wife.
