Jacob and Kansas...

Chapter 9

"Kansas, sweetie wake up," Jacob said to her. She looked at him a little puzzled on where she was since last thing she remembered was she was at Sams.

"Jake?" she said goggly.

"Yeah. We need to talk," he said as she sat up. She looked around and seen she was at Jacobs. She tossed her hair into a pony and looked around for her jacket.

"Jake, how did I get here?" she asked still sleepy and confussed.

"Not sure. I came home and you were here," he said to her as he helped her stand. He held her face into his hands and then hugged her.

"Jake, I'm sorry," she said as she hugged back.

"NO. Kansas. I was out of line. Big time," he said to her. He grabbed her hand and lead her to the kitchen. "I should of never kept you hidden from them nor them from you. I'm sorry."

"Jake, why were you so mad? do you even remember what you said to me? what you did?" she said as she dropped his hand. Tears.

"All i know is i yelled at you and then broke you face with your phone and i'm so sorry," He said as he looked away and got teary eyes.

"Jake, who is Nessie? I didnt even know you had a girlfriend," she flat out said as she seen Sam and Seth walking up to the house.

"Its a long story and i promise i'll tell you when its the right time." he said as Sam tossed him against the wall.

"Stop Sam! " Kansas yelled. He punched Jacob in the stomach a couple of times then stopped.

"Jake, you know we don't hit our women!" Sam yelled at him. Jacob sat on the floor trying to catch his breath. Seth held Kansas back.

"Sam, I didnt mean to," he pleaded.

"NOT good enough! she is better than them and you know it and if i was you, i'd drop them they way they dropped you. unless you forgot that," he said as he punched and kicked him again then went to Kansas kissed both cheeks and walked off. Seth let her go and followed. She fell down to the floor next to Jacob.

"Jake, are you okay?" she cried.

"Get away from me," he said meanly.

"Jake...." she said again. HE glanced at her and she seen that same look so she backed off and sat against the wall huddled into a ball looking away from him scared he'd hit her face again.

"Kansas, come with me hun," she heard Emily said to her as she felt her hands on her shoulders a short time later. She did.

"I'm okay. He just glaired at me," Kansas said to Emily when they were outside walking towards the lake. "How did i get here Emily?"

"I think you slept walked here," she said to her as they sat on the log around a fire that a few other friends got started.

"weird. I gotta get home," she said to everyone.

"We'll make sure you make it," Emily said to her. Kansas glanced back at the house, Jacob still had not come outside.

"Maybe i should go check on him, " She said as she seen him exit his house and walk to the woods. "Or maybe not."

"Everyone will calm down in a day or two. I'll take you back to get your car," Emily said to Kansas as they walked up towards the drive way.

"What are you doing here?" Nessie said as she stepped out of the car with Emmet.

"Hey, you doing okay?" Emmet asked Kansas as he stepped towards her. Seth, Clyde, and a couple others stepped up to him. HE just back off a little and stood by the car.

"I'm okay Emmett. Nessie, i just want to apologize, I didnt know he had a girlfriend," Kansas started to say.

"You slept with Jacob? You are going to be sorry you stupid...." Nessie started to say as she stepped towards Kansas.

"Knock it off Nessie. Leave Kansas alone," Jacob said stepping in between them. he just looked down at Nessie she kept quiet.

"I'm taking her back to her car guys and she's going home," Emily said to everyone that was around. Kansas and Emily started to walk off.

"Kansas," Jacob said to her stopping her with his hand on her arm. Emily just glanced at her and got the hint and walked off to the car. The other guys all walked back to the woods. Emmet and Nessie stood there.

"Jake, its okay. Just deal with what you have to. I'll be around," Kansas said as she stepped away and walked to Emily's car. Jacob went to go towards her.

"Jake, let her go," Emmet said to him as he shut his car door. Jake looked down and then at Emmet and nodded his head.

"What are you two doing here?" Jacob asked them.

"I wanted to some see how you live," Nessie said to him. "If i'm going to be your wife one day, I have to know how your kind is."

"Nessie, go home. I can't have you here and we'll talk later about if there's marriage," he said as he walked back into his house. Emmet started the car.

"If there's a marriage???" Nessie said freaking out. "Jacob...."

"Nessie I'm warning you go home," Jacob said to her firmly. Emmet smiled. Soon Nessie got into the car and they drove away. Jacob went into sleep a while, except all he could do is think of Kansas.

Jacob: hey i really hope you for give me.

Kansas: it'll take some time.

Jacob: i just have alot to deal with and i'm sorry.

Kansas: who is Nessie? to you?

Jacob: its a long story but i kinda promised I'd marry her when she got older.

Kansas: do you want too?

Jacob: I dont know any more. I want us back to how we were Kans.

Kansas: i do too but it'll take time. you scared me and broke my nose.

Jacob: i'm so sorry. i blacked out.

Kansas: talk to you later have to deal with the Aunt about my nose. I'll say i fell down the stairs.

Jacob: call me later.
