Jacob and Kansas...

Chapter 7

"Emmet, where were you last night?" Carlise asked him as he walked into the door.

"I went to talk to that girl," he said to him quietly. They went into his office.

"What did you find out or learn?" he asked him as he poured himself a drink of bourbon.

"She's a good person," he said with a pause. "I like her and I don't want to say this, but Jacob needs her as much as she needs him." Carlise glanced at him. "She is damaged goods as well as the rest of us. Not so much of what we are but from what she told me, she's had a hell of a life in her 16 years of life. I'm sure there was much more than what she told me, but, she's sweet."

"Emmet, was she sweet and caring because that's what she wanted you to see her that way?" he asked concerned still about his granddaughters possible replacment.

"No. When talking to her, she gives this vibe like Jacob said, like you are human yourself and you don't feel different or like you don't belong. I like her," Emmet said. "As a person that is." He walked off as he went to go kiss Rosealee by suprise.

"Esme, I'm thinking we should arrange a meeting to meeting to talk about the possiblitly of Jacob changing his mind and the outcome," Carlies said to his wife.

"No no. Jacobs not changing his mind about being with Nessie. She is to much in love with him since day of birth to be tossed to the side because a human came into play," Edward said to them.

"Really Edward? It wasnt too long ago that I was still just a human that came into play," Bella said to her husband with reminder. He just looked out the window coldly.

"I don't want Nessie to hurt," he said as he started walked off.

"I wont let anyone hurt Kansas either," Emmet said as he walked into the room too. Edward glanced at him along with Belle, Jasper, and Alice. "I feel like she's apart of me some how, like a little sister. I don't know, you guys haven't met her, but she is very sweet and likeable."

"And how would you know this?" Bella asked him as she stood next to Edward. He told them. Soon they heard a knock at the door.

"Mom, dad, there's a girl here to talk to you," Nessie said as she stood in the door way looking at this girl. As Edward and Bella walked down the stairs, they both took a deep breathe in at this girls beauty. She was nervous and had a slight smiled as she tucked a strain of her hair behind her ear.

"Hello. Can we help you?" Bella asked her.

"Um, hi. Yes. Hi. I'm Jacobs friend Kansas and I wanted to come introduce myself instead of letting whatever it is bothering Jacob get the best of him," she said fastly as she held her hand out to shake. Bella nor Edward shook her hand. She pulled it back and felt stupid that she came but she did and she was here now.

"Please come in Kansas," Carlise said to her as he was walking down the stairs as well as the rest of the family who was interested  what Jacobs friend looked like. Bella and Edwards moved out of the way as she entered the house and followed Carlise into the living room area.

"So, like I said, I know Jacob pretty well, and..." she started as she sat down on the chair.

"We know Jacob," Edward said as he cut her off in mid senctence.

"Yes, sorry. I know ya'll know Jacob well, but I know he only ups and leaves when he's stressed out, and I was thinking that, he shouldn't have to be stressed out over anything of friends. I mean, I'm his friend, and you guys are his friends too, right?" Kansas said trying to calm down but had 10 pairs of eyes stairing at her. "So, I was curious on why we really couldnt be friends too."
