chapter 10

Chapter 10:

It was now 2pm. Time flew by when I was with him. We were still on the play station, I looked over at him, he was focusing on the game really hard.

I laughed silently when a sudden loud alarm went off. I shot my head round to see the words ‘you lose’ written on the TV on my side of the screen.

‘I win’ Zack smiled proudly. ‘Well done’ I smirked. Over the time we’d spent together I’d realized how much fun I was having with him.

Once I had discovered my feelings for Jack I thought there’d never be another guy who could make me feel the same way. Surprisingly, i was starting to think otherwise.

My phone buzzed. It was a text from Ella.

[Can I come over:)?]

I looked down at the text, then back up at Zack. ‘What’s up?’ he slowly dropped his smile in concern. ‘Nothing’ I laughed. ‘Just Ella wants to come round’ ‘Oh’ Zack paused. ‘I mean, oh’ his smile returned.

‘I don’t know, maybe she should’ I was interrupted by another text.

[never mind, I’m going over to Jack’s(:]

I sighed slightly.

‘What she say?’ Zack looked hopeful. ‘She’s going round to Jacks’ my tone suddenly sounded depressed. ‘What’s wrong with that?’ Zack lifted my chin.

I took a moment and stared into his eyes. For a second, it felt like I was with Jack. ‘Nothing’ I said softly. Zack smiled, his smile was so cute.

--------Ella’s point of view--------

Hanley didn’t text me back, I wondered what she could have been up to. I met Jack at the gates after school. I smiled, but on the inside I was beaming.

‘Hey’ he welcomed me with a hug. ‘Hey’ I said leaning into his chest. He slowly pulled back but left an arm around my shoulder as we walked to his house.

Whilst walking there I noticed he was kind of quiet. ‘Jack’ he looked at down at me. ‘Are you okay?’ he didn’t reply straight away.

Regardless of what he was about to say I knew something wasn’t right. ‘Yeah’ he spoke gently.

I looked away in disbelief and sighed. ‘Honestly, I’m fine. I just’ he paused ‘missed you’ I still wasn’t fully convinced, but I was happy with his answer.
