I sat in my desk and thought over everything. The old man was strolling around Konoha, so I had taken the liberty of doing his work. It wasn't much just some papers about recent missions.

Ugh life seems normal but in the shadows the ninjas are in so much conflict.

A few ANBU appeared in front of me, there was a tense air around them.

"Yes, you may speak." I said curiously.

They are sooooooo formal.

"Head captain, Hayate Gekko was found dead. It is said he died late last night." Bird said before flashing away.

Yugao stayed and kept kneeling. I could see that she was in pain.

"I am sorry for your loss, I will personally make sure this gets taken care of." I said kindly while standing up.

She looked up in surprise and disbelief.

"Taicho you don't have too." She said while lowering her head again.

"But I will. You did well, it was not your fault. Don't let it get to you, I can handle it." I said before patting her head.

Her eyes lit up with joy and filled with tears. Before I knew it she had jumped up and hugged me.

"Thank you so much Taicho." She whispered before flashing away.

A smile came to my face. It feels nice.

I quickly finished my paperwork and the old man's. Then I walked outside and jumped onto a roof nearby a training area. At the moment I was in my ANBU disguise.

My black hair blowed in the wind as I paced back and forth. Thoughts filled my mind as I tried to figure out what happened.

I was out that night, then that kid Kabuto came and....can it be?

I was puzzled over it. How would he know? Did the old man have him do something? Why wasn't I informed?

Oh wait, he still thinks my injuries are bad. Ugh!!!

My back still hurt a little but I wasn't completely injured anymore. I sighed and squinted at the village. Villagers were casually doing their business. They were all completely oblivious to the danger around them

"HEY YOU!!!" I heard a familiar voice say.

I ignored it and continued to think.

"ANBU GUY!!" I heard them say this time.

That sounds like...

I turned towards the source and sweat dropped.

Naruto.

I froze when I saw the guy walking behind him whom also stopped to look at me.

This is like that stupid dream. NO! It's just a coincidence.

I flashed down to him and stood in front of him. I had to look down at him because my disguise made me taller than him.

"You're that lady that saved us during the Chunnin exams!" He yelled while pointing at me.
