(Joel's Point of View)
Christmas, snow and Joanne. Absolute perfection. I was back home for the next three weeks so could spend all the time I wanted with her. What more could I ask for to be honest? We were currently in the middle of town to watch all the Christmas lights, including the huge tree to be switched on. I moved behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Seeing this makes me want to decorate our tree now." she mumbled. I smiled and kissed her cheek.
"You can come round and help us do our tree. Dad's getting it today and we'll be decorating it later." I said hugging her more tightly when I noticed she was shaking from the cold. She turned around in my arms.
"But thats for you and your family to do. I'd just be intruding." she said. I watched as a snowflake landed on her nose and melted there.
"You wouldn't be. We've been going out almost seven months now. Plus my family love you babe." I grinned. She frowned up at me and shook her head.
"Are you sure though?" she asked. I nodded and laughed.
"Of course I'm sure! Just come home with me after we're done here and you can help decorate our tree. Now don't say anything else or I'll have to just drag you to my house and make you decorate our tree." I said. She smiled and punched my arm. I feigned injury to make her laugh and it did.
"As if your tiny girlfriend managed to hurt you with that punch." she said as she turned back around to look at the tree, which was about to be lit.
"Well I do anything to make you laugh." I said and pulled her closer. She just groaned and shook her head. "What?" I asked.
"Stop being so cute in public. You know I blush like crazy when you act all cute in public or just in general."
"Benefit of it being so cold and snowing is that people will just think your cheeks are red from the cold. So that means I can be as cute as I want towards you." I said and spun her around on the spot. She started laughing loudly and one or two people turned to look at us with smiles on their faces.
"Joel put me down so I can watch the lights turn on!" she said. I did as she asked and just as I set her down the lights flickered on and everyone started cheering and clapping. The look on Joanne's face was priceless. Just seeing her admire small things like Christmas lights made my heart skip a beat. She always looked perfect when you noticed her at times like this. "They're so pretty." she said in a small voice.
"So are you." I said with a wink. "Well would you look at what we happen to be standing under." I grinned and pointed up above us. She tilted her head up to look where I was pointing and smiled. Mistletoe. I leant down and gently pressed my lips against hers. I felt her smile against my lips and her arms wrap up around my shoulders. As she was so much smaller than me I ended up lifting her slightly off the ground as we kissed. I set her down and pulled away.
"Can we head to yours now? I'm getting pretty cold despite having stolen your jumper and scarf as well as my own jacket." she asked. I nodded and grabbed onto her hand as we made our way through the snow to where I had parked my mum's car.
We got back to my parent's house in no time considering how we didn't live that far from town. We could see through the living room window that my dad had already set the tree up and that they had started to root through all our decorations.
"Come on Joel!" Joanne grinned and flew out the car and into the house as if she lived there already. I followed after her quickly once I'd locked the car. I walked into the living room to already find her sifting through the decorations and picking some out alongside my sister.
