(Joanne's Point of View)
I jumped slightly as the alarm rang out through the deathly silent room. My eyes flickered open to find I wasn't in my own room but in Joel's. I sat up and stretched my arms up above my head and glanced around the room before my eyes fell on his window. I carefully climbed out of bed so I wouldn't wake Joel who had somehow managed to sleep through the alarm that he himself had set. I tiptoed over to the window and pulled his curtain back slightly to see a blanket of white stretched across his back garden. I smiled to myself. Snow on Christmas was great but when it was snowing on Christmas day it was just even better. I turned back around to look at Joel who was now sprawled out across the entire bed, like a starfish. I smiled and ran over to the bed and jumped on top of him making him wake up with a groan.
"You bitch." he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep. I frowned at him and rolled off him.
"Prick." I said under my breath. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and pull me back.
"You know I was joking. I love you really. Just next time try give me a warning you're about to jump on me to wake me up." he whispered against my ear.
"You better have been joking." I said turning myself in his arms.
"I was." he said. "Merry Christmas babe." he whispered kissing me. I pulled away and smiled.
"Merry Christmas handsome." I said in a whisper also. "So, what time will everyone else be getting up at?" I asked looking back at his clock which showed it was quarter past six. I don't know why he insisted on setting the alarm for six but I let him anyway.
"They probably won't be up until eight. Or maybe seven. Depends." he explained. I sighed and rolled onto my back.
"Then why are we up at six?" I whined pulling the covers over my head. Joel pulled them back down and grinned.
"Cause I wanted to give you your present in private, away from everyone else." he smiled and climbed out of bed. I watched as he crossed his room in nothing but his boxers and grinned to myself.
"Is it you in boxers? Because if so then I love it." I said with a smirk. He turned around and looked at me before laughing. I crawled to the end of the bed and sat with the quilt wrapped around me. He pulled open a drawer before starting to look through it. After a minute or two he pulled out two small boxes which were carefully wrapped in Christmas paper. He sat on the edge of the bed and handed me one of them.
"Can I open it?" I asked, looking up at him. He nodded and laughed at me.
"Of course you can!" he answered but I had already tore half the paper off by the time he answered me. I looked at the small blue box which now sat in my hand and smiled, opening it up. Inside was a sterling silver necklace. The heart shaped pendant glistened even though there was no light hitting it. I pulled it out and held it in my hands. "Do you like it?" he asked.
"Joel its gorgeous." I said.
"Look at this." he said turning it over in my hand. I brushed my finger along the engraving and laughed.
"JJ." I smiled. I couldn't believe he had done that. A few months back we'd been talking about if we were to have a celebrity couple name like Brad and Angelina and Joel came up with JJ. "I can't believe you remembered that." I said leaning up and kissing him. He pulled away and took the necklace off me and moved behind me to put it on. I moved my hair out of the way and waited for him to get the clasp shut. He did and I let my hair fall down again.
