Kerry's POV

I walked out of the bathrooms on the second floor to find that my German classroom was completely empty, all get books and pencil cases were lying on the tables. I'd heard a loud, explosive bang whilst I was washing my hands but I thought it was just a science experiment. It obviously wasn't. A mere experiment would not make a whole class disappear.

As I walked around the corner I heard some voices coming from the other end of the corridor.

"Yeah, I've read some stuff online and it said that if something like this would ever happen, the zombie apocalypse could potentially happen, so I'm just taking its word for it."

"Yeah...um...ok. But if you really think that's the case, we need supplies. Lion, go to HE and grab a bunch of knives, as many different kinds as you can. Ruben, try and find us some suitable apocalypse get up, and I'll pinch some food from the canteen. You all got that? Great. Meet back here in fifteen minutes."

It was Hazel and Lion from my German class, I started off down the corridor to ask them what the hell happened, but they had already gone. Strange.

Anyway- If I'd overheard correctly, this Ruben person thought it was a zombie apocalypse. Ha no chance, there is no such thing as zombies. Is there?

I decided on listening to what Hazel was saying and I made my way to the Home Economics classroom. All the sharp knives were already picked over so I got the next best: the butter knives. They aren't much, but if I ever need to stab an eyeball, they're potentially perfect.

I then sauntered to the canteen to find some food, again everything had been picked over but I found some wilting lettuce in the cupboard and some milk in the big fridge. Amazingly, I opened a cupboard in the back room to find all the canteen staffs' sweet treats. Cakes. Biscuits. The whole lot. It was heaven in a cupboard. I snagged some candles and a match from the stove and lit one candle for the cake. This was such a great day to spend my birthday.

As I left the canteen it suddenly occurred to me. What if the whole 'zombie apocalypse' nonsense was just a way of fooling me, and the rest of the pupils and teachers were in the gymnasium throwing a party! For me!

Excitedly, I ran towards the gymnasium and stopped outside the door. Right. Superior entrance. Check! Surprised face. Check! In ready to go. I can already hear voices coming from inside. I plastered a winning smile across my face and barged through the door.

"I'm her- oh," I said as I saw three people in the corner. It was Lion, Hazel and Ruben.

"Kerry?" Hazel said, confused. "What are you doing here?"

"I-erm nothing," I said, my cheeks heating up, "I just heard noises coming from in here. I thought you were intruders."

"Have you heard?" Ruben exclaimed, "it's a zombie apocalypse!"

"So," said Lion, "we need a plan."
