Lion's POV
Darn. We're screwed.
I bit my lip as I stared at the dead armless girl at my feet. "This is a lot more serious than we think," I muttered. "You don't say," growled Hazel.

I got up and swung my backpack full of supplies onto my back. "Let's go and find that van," I said. The others got up and we began to make our way to the school garage thing.

"By the way Hazel.... Who did that to that girl?" I asked as we rounded the corner. Hazel paled. "You're about to find out," she whispered.

At the other end of the corridor was a teacher. But even from a distance, you could tell there was something horribly wrong. She was slightly hunched over, with blood all over her arms. Half her hair was missing, and the stuff that was left was greasy and rank. Her skin was very pale, but with brown and green blemishes all over it. Suddenly with a sickening crack, she jerked her head up to face us. I heard Kerry gasp and Ruben retch.

One eye was missing. No idea how it had happened, but it was gross. The other eye was cloudy, but I'm sure she could see us. Her mouth and teeth were stained red, so I had a pretty good theory on what she'd been eating.

The teacher let out a weird gurgling noise and started towards us. My first instinct was to run, but I couldn't leave my friends. So I fumbled for a knife and threw it at her. I missed.

I didn't miss the second time though. It thwacked her right in the forehead and she crumpled to the floor. "Let's go!" Cried Ruben, grabbing my wrist and tugging me along after her.

I felt sick. Had I just killed someone? No, she was a zombie. But I'd still killed her. I didn't even notice we were in the van until it began to move. Ruben was gripping the wheel so hard her knuckles had gone white.

She put her foot on the accelerator and we had a burst of speed. I gazed out of the window at the zombie infested school grounds. I recognised half or them, but their features had been twisted into something completely horrifying. They began to head towards our van, but faster than I thought zombies could go.

"Hurry up, Ruben! They're going to catch us!" Yelled Kerry.
"I'm trying! Shut up!" Ruben shifted the gearstick and we sped along the school drive, accidentally running over one or two of them.

We were off.

Hey guys! Hope you liked that. Sorry it took so long to update, but you have it now.
