Lion's P.O.V
"It's now safe to exit the building! Your parents should be waiting outside. If they're not, please find a teacher," yelled the head master to the crowd of kids crammed into the assembly hall. I looked over to Blane, who frowned. The likelihood of her parents standing outside were very slim.

I had been staying at her house for the past two weeks because my mum and dad were off to Russia for work, so I was stumped as well.

"What should we do?" I asked Hazel quietly, still looking quite queasy. "No idea, but one thing's for certain: we're not going outside. No way in heck," She replied.
"What? Why?"
"Look, what my parents were working was dangerous. Really dangerous. We've only been waiting for two hours and now it's 'safe'? Trust me, whatever's in the air right now is super bad and it's still floating around out there, just like Ruben said," she muttered.
"How do you know that?" I asked. Hazel grinned sheepishly. "I may or may not have looked through my mum's study in great detail," she said.

"Hazel? Lion? Why aren't you in the playground waiting for your mums and dads?" We both froze. Mr Scottish was standing behind us with his hands on his hips, all angry like. "Lion is suddenly desperate to go to the toilet," Hazel blurted out, before grabbing my wrist and dragging me into the nearest bathroom.

"That was unnecessarily painful," I grumbled, rubbing my hand. "Well I'm sorry, but that's life. Deal with it," suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and I swung round and almost punched Rubén in the face. She dodged skilfully, and then cleared her throat like nothing had happened.

"Hi," she said waving.
"Oh. Sorry," I smiled, and then awkwardly shuffled. "Can I join your posse?" She asked blatantly.
"What?" Hazel asked confuzzdly.
"You know, your 'surviving the zombie apocalypse' group. You two are obviously intelligent enough not to leave the building, and you never know, I could be useful," she replied.

"Zombie apocalypse?" I spluttered. I was expecting Hazel to laugh too, but her face remained stony.
"Yeah, I've read some stuff online and it said that if something like this would ever happen, the zombie apocalypse could potentially happen," she answered, "so I'm just taking its word for it."
"Yeah...um...ok. But if you really think that's the case, we need supplies. Lion, go to HE and grab a bunch of knives, as many different kinds as you can. Ruben, try and find us some suitable apocalypse get up, and I'll pinch some food from the canteen. You all got that? Great. Meet back here in fifteen minutes." And with that, they both sprinted out the door. "Guys! Wait! What's all this stuff about zombies and the end of the world? Guys!" But they'd already gone. I sighed and began making my way up to HE.
