Chapter 9

Every summer has its story. When I was finishing my last year of highschool and starting the holidays I decided that this time there's gonna be just me, food and twitter and that I need to rest before the college. I gave up trying to find the love of my life while waiting for the coffee in Starbuck's or I stopped dieting, accepting the fact that my hips are just wide and my thigh gap is never gonna reveal. I used to spend my days obsessing about this one certain guy in one certain Australian band when one day this guy knocked on my door, stayed for the night in my house and played with my feelings like nobody ever did. I swear, a month ago I'd sell all my goods to even see him but now I was trying to avoid him during his last day before the American Tour. While yesterday my feelings were pretty clear today's just been a total mess in my head only since I woke up. I still could hear Luke's broken voice and feel Ashton's lips on mine. I was so in love I couldn't even figure out which one of them means more to me. They were jamming on the stage, few rows in front of me, looking perfectly good as always, laughing at Michael who nearly fell off the box he was standing on. I was wondering how do boys feel when they are in love. Do they get butterflies? Do they have you on their mind 24/7? Do they smile at random times at thought of you? Because that was the way I felt about Ashton. And Luke. And then Luke and Ashton. After the last sound check in Los Angeles we headed to the boulevard because Calum dared Luke to eat the biggest ice cream they sell in here. When we walked out of the studio the group of fans waiting in front of it simply attacked us. I took a step back, letting them get closer to boys. That's what made them happy. The smiles on girls faces just because they met them, talked to them, took a picture or got an autograph. In that moment I seriously wished I was one of these girls. That met their idols one day, which was already the most perfect day of their lives and then got back to the daily basis, loving boys even more than before, in this very special way.

-Hey, can you take a picture of us?- the tall and tanned brunette gave me her iPhone and smiled. Her dark hair was falling perfectly down her arms and there was no single flaw on her olive skin. She was so much prettier than me, I wondered why any of the boys haven't asked her for the number yet. I took a picture of her, Calum and Luke and handed the phone back.    -Thank you so much!- she hugged me, probably in the random gesture of pure happiness. -Who are you by the way? I've seen you on most of the pictures with boys from San Francisco and now Los Angeles, you are seriously the luckiest bitch ever to spend so much time with them.

-Oh, my dad is the manager of the tour- I said, blushing a little. I totally understood her point of view. Maybe I was seriously the luckiest bitch ever.

-Can I be you already?- she looked at me like she really meant the question, but then she laughed and said that it was nice to meet me and jumped happily to her group of friends. When the boys were done with all the photos and autographs we took a cab to the centre, to get to the boulevard. Calum and Luke headed to the ice cream parlor, leaving me alone with Michael and Ashton.

-Ok, lovebirds- I think it's worth mentioning that since yesterday Calum, Michael or even my dad and boy's hairdresser were calling me and Ashton "lovebirds". I would think it's beyond cute if not Luke's face expression everytime he heard it. He was the worst boy that I could break a heart.- I'm gonna find some good place to eat, and I will call you soon, join me there with Luke and Calum later? Take care- saying that he left us on our own.

-Soo, what do you want to do now?- Ashton grabbed my hand and looked at me with his shiny, big eyes. I glanced around and spotted some stores with souvenires, video games and jewellery.

-Maybe a bit of shopping? And then we could grab a Starbucks or something?- surprisingly he agreed, taking me under mine arm. He was this rare kind of a guy who actually found it cool, wandering around the shops. But first of all we needed to spend like 20 minutes in the video games avenue when he was looking for some special game, only available in U.S. and then complained that we have a much more wide range of choice than they do in Australia and that it is totally racist. When we finally left, I spotted a booth with bracelets, necklaces and earcuffs, these kind that every girl wants to have. While I was looking through the unbelievable amount of them, Ashton gave me a thick, black bracelet with an "A" on it. He was holding the same one but on his there was a shiny "O".
