Chapter 7

He was surrounded by change. Constant, mind numbing change. And he hated every minute of it.

They had found a new place, over in Cerium sector by the sea, in an old underground bunker that was made of metal, and a machine that could screw up the ability to find them with technology. People were already staying at the new place, simply called The Bunker. Most of his people were already safe and sound, staying hidden in another place.

The whole thing was very nostalgic for Ryker. He hated being away from his people, not being able to have the ability to protect them in a moments notice. Now, all he did was sit and wait. Wait for Syndicate, for them to come find the remaining Damnation members.

Ryker hated waiting.

So he trained. And trained. And trained some more. All he ever really did was train and eat. The remainder of his time was spent planning. Making sure the majority of his people would never be found by Syndicate as long as the Government was in power.

The remaining of his people did mostly the same as him, their nerves were shot. Thirty-four of his people were left. Thirty-four people in all. All ready to be captured and taken to Syndicate's maximum security prison. A soul sucking, gray, oblivion of a place that causes most people to lose their minds, and the rest to kill themselves.

The youngest was fifteen, and the oldest twenty-five. All of them willingly volunteered to be taken in order to protect their families. Rhea and Sem were in charge of The Bunker, though his people didn't listen as much or as quickly as they did to Ryker. But in times like these, it was sufficient enough.

The thirty-four of the remaining Damnation still went on missions and got new recruits, so Syndicate doesn't wonder what happened to them. Though, it was now mostly a group of two to five people taking a few minutes, twenty at most.

Ryker did a lot more, going on solo missions to do whatever damage he could to his sworn enemies. All those flash drives were hidden at The Bunker, buried deep in concrete. He got Rhea to vibrate the box through the floor, keeping it safe in rock. Having to take such evasive actions was ridiculous. His hatred only grew when they made him separate from his sister. Now he only saw her once a month for a few minutes at a time.

Ryker liked to practice with Petra more and more. Both were growing in power and strength. Ryker could relax more with Petra then he could with others. They practiced with new weapons and fighting styles, only making them faster and much, much better.

They sparred a little, hitting and kicking the other to knock them to the ground. Petra had a slight smirk as she kicked Ryker in his femoral artery. He staggered back and dodged a kick to the head.

"You're getting better, Petra." Ryker laughed, wearily getting to his feet. Petra smiled brightly, aiming a roundhouse kick to his jugular. He grabbed her leg and flipped her over his back, slamming her into the ground. She groaned as he pinned her under him, forearm to her pale throat.

"Yet, you still are somehow a little overconfident when you try to take me out. That or nervous. You can't be nervous if the time comes to hurt someone." Ryker said, his inner teacher speaking through him. Petra huffed and tried to regain her breathing. Both were panting like dogs, having worked out for hours took a toll on their bodies.

"I still fear in pissing you off, that's why I hesitate." Petra sighed, going limp under him. Ryker rolled off her and laid beside her still body. Their work out clothes stuck to their sweaty bodies.
