Moroi Problems

Rose: I walked out of the classroom, tears still running horribly as I thought that I may not ever be specializing into one of the Elements like the other Moroi. Great, I'm a freak, I thought sourly as I continued the trek to any one destination. I wasn't headed for any particular destination though. So I had ended up in the gym, sitting in a corner as I cried softly. My knees had been pulled tightly inwards as I laid my chin on my knees. My body shook with tears. I hadn't cried in a very, very long time, so, this was a bit extreme and didn't fully make sense.

I had had my eyes shut as I began to rock back and forth, it almost seemed as if I was doing it in a calming effect. Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth. I was gaining speed as I now felt anger over this. I hated that my Element wasn't rising. Or maybe I had specialized and just hadn't realized it. If it had, I'd feel like a complete fool. I shook my head, my hands had curled up in a tiny fist now as I tried to calm down, but, seem as if I couldn't. I was so, so upset that I couldn't find my true element. The element, they say, was suppose to claim the Moroi, and be brought out around the ages of 14-18. I was 17. And I still hadn't specialized yet. It made so, so mad.

A door being opened shut off my raging thoughts as I looked up at a figure's shadow. At first my thought came, Jesse had found me. But I kept my eyes trained on the approaching figure and saw that it was Belikov. His hands were stuffed in his pockets as he watched me. He rose an eyebrow at my shaking form and I realized that I was still rocking back and forth. I stopped immediately and watched him as well.

"Roza?" His voice was laced with that Russian accent and I could also hear the worried tone in it as well.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"What's going on?"

I shook my head and now stood up. "Nothing." He really didn't need to know about my 'Moroi problems' right now. Hell, I wish I didn't have to go through them myself, but I did. Their my problems, not his. I sniffed and started to walk away but Dimitri had caught my arm, pulling me back before I got a mere 10 inches.

"Roza, what is it?"

I shook my head again. "You don't need to worry, I promise. "

"Don't I though?" He asked, tilting his head to one side.

I swallowed and remembered how he had kissed me up against the wall last night, how I felt safe with him. I swallowed once more and watched him. " It's just my magic. Silly Moroi problems that you shouldn't be concerned with, Comrade."

"I have all day, Roza. Tell me. " He sat down on one of the mats and watched me intently, needing me to sit with him. So I did. I crossed my legs and sighed.
"It turns out my magic hasn't specialized yet. And I've been working with Mrs. Carmack- the Elements Specializing Teacher to see if I might have any powers at all." I took a breath and now looked away. "Which isn't going to plan as I'd like it too."

"So, your trying to see if an Element has 'claimed' you?" Dimitri asked and I could see the wheels spinning.

I nodded. "Yes."

"Which elements have you already tried?"

I thought back to Mrs. Carmack and I's sessions. "Fire, Water, and Earth."

"You haven't tried air?" Dimitri asked.

I shook my head. "No, we haven't. "

"I think you should try it again. Make it the best shot you've got. Ya know?"

I nodded and felt encouraged by his words. "Alright. Thank you, Comrade."

He smiled a rare smile over at me. "No problem."

"So, what were you doing here in the first place?"

"I had a training session with Lissa. She should be here in about ten."

I nodded and smiled. " Awesome!"

Dimitri nodded in answer. "Oh, our trainings will start next Monday. "

I lit up like a Christmas tree. "Your for real?"

Dimitri laughed, loud and happy at my reaction. It made me blushed. "Yes, Roza." I smiled and hopped into his lap, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you thank you thank you!!" I cried out loudly as I pulled away, smiling down at him as I let my fingers slip into his hair. It felt like silk. I slowly let the ponytail down and ran my fingers through more of his hair. He smiled back at me the whole time.

"I've gotta go, Comrade. But. I really don't want too. "

"You could come over to my room tonight if you'd like?"

I blinked, surprised by his words. "I don't want to get you into any trouble though."

"Come after hours, Roza. " he breathed in my ear. I grinned at him and got up, skipping vac to my room.
