The days seem to fly by when you least expect it. The snows falling outside, holidays have passed and the chaos just continues. We've been anxiously awaiting the blood work results for Ivan and to hear what's going to happen with Nancy. Officer Manning said that the chief was pretty satisfied with the recording just waiting to see how he wants to pursue.
It's been a little more than a week since we've heard from the doctor. Brad is getting very impatient. He's called the doctor and he said he's still waiting on some results.
"Ella dinners ready!" Courtney calls.
I picked up party planning on the side since well I no longer have a job at the hotel. So I wrap up what I'm doing and head in to eat dinner. When I get out to the dining room Brad is on the phone pacing back and forth.
"Who's that?" I ask.
"It's Dr.Kahn."
"He looks pissed."
"I know. It doesn't look good.
Courtney and I sit down to eat dinner. Brad hangs up sits down on the couch and puts his head in his hands. Suddenly he stands up grabs his keys and walks out the door.
"Wait Brad!" Courtney yells running after him. "What's wrong?"
She comes back to the table and sits down. She has worry written all over her face.
"Oh Courtney. I'm sure he's ok, he probably was just told something he wasn't expecting."
"Yeah probably." She sighs.
After dinner I clean up and leave a plate out for Brad. After cleaning up I join Courtney in the living room. She's sitting on the couch just staring at her phone.
"Did you try calling him?" I ask.
"Yeah about an hour ago. This isn't like him."
"No, but he must be pretty upset about something."
We hear the lock to the door unlock and the door cracks open. It's Brad. He looks a mess. Courtney jumps up and runs to him. They hug for a good while.
Releasing from his hug, Courtney asks what's wrong.
"You're not going to believe this, well maybe you will considering everything happening."
"Ok spill it." Courtney says.
Brad walks into the living room and sits down in the chair across from the couch and Courtney follows.
"So we know why Ivan isn't waking up." He starts.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because Nancy has done it again." Brad says.
"Enough of beating around the bush just say what you want to say." Courtney says getting impatient.
"Ok, well mom was injecting pentobarbital into his IV." Brad says.
"Isn't that the stuff they use for medically induced comas?" I ask.
"Yes it is." Brad says.
"I don't understand. Why would she do that?" Asks Courtney.
"Well she's mentally ill for starters and she said it's because Courtney has already taken me away from her she won't allow anyone to take Ivan away from her."
"So now what?" I ask.
"Nancy was arrested. She admitted everything. Dr. Kahn is flushing the pentobarbital from his system. He says it can take a few days, maybe less."
