Driving back to the apartment my phone rings. There's a pit in my stomach when I look at the caller id. It's Ivan? So I slowly pick it up and answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hi!" This peppy voice comes across the line. "My name is Morgan. I was walking across the parking lot in little town and came across this phone on the ground. The last call was to this number so I figured you can help me get it to its owner."

"Yeah it's my boyfriends phone. He's in the hospital in a coma but I can meet you to get it for him."

"Can you come now? I'm still in little town." Morgan asks.

"Yes I'll meet you in 10 minutes."

I turn and head toward little town. It's good to have my own car now. I wonder how Ivan dropped his phone. 10 minutes after driving I finally make it to little town. I believe that's Morgan over there. She waves with Ivan's phone in her hand. I get out and walk toward her.

"Hi!" She extends her hand to shake mine.

"Hello, thank you so much for being honest and returning Ivan's phone."

"Oh it's not a problem. I would hope someone would do the same for me. You said he's in a coma?" Morgan asked.

"Yeah. We were attacked by his crazy ex girlfriend. He got the most of the injuries." I explain.

"Sweetie I am so sorry." and she places her hand on my belly. "Please tell me you know already?"

"I do. Just found out today. How did you know?"

"I have a bit of an intuition per say."

Morgan definitely has that look about her. The kind of gypsy fortune teller look. She's tall at least six foot. She has green eyes and dark brown hair almost black. She has to be in her early 30s but she's beautiful and has this confidence to her.

I smile. "Well you are right."

"Ivan's the father, I can tell." She says."your little baby doll is going to have her daddy wrapped around her tiny little fingers." Suddenly her hand flies up to her mouth."I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have spilled that info."

I stare at her in awe. Not mad that she gave away the gender but that she gave away that Ivan was alive! He was going to live to see his daughter. Suddenly the tears are pooling in my eyes and that piece of information makes me feel so happy.

She's staring at me. "I'm not mad I promise! You said she will have him wrapped around her tiny little fingers. That means he's going to live?"

"Dear he is stronger than you will ever begin to imagine. I picked that up the minute I touched his phone. Give it time. Let his body heal, when his bodies healed he will come back to you."

I suddenly hug her. "Oh thank you!" I say still hugging her. "I'm sorry I don't know what came over me."

"It's ok. Here's my number. Call me anytime. We were destined to become friends." She smiles getting into her car. She starts it up and looks in her rear view mirror before backing out of her spot. She gives a slight wave and drives off.

I climb into my car, feeling relieved and somewhat excited. I drive off to go back to the apartment and the whole way there I couldn't help but think of what Morgan has said. I don't normally believe in this stuff but could she be right? I'm far from showing so there's no way she knew from that.

I pulled up in front of the apartment building and put the wrangler into park. Courtney's cars not here but Brad's is. I climb out of my car and fumble for the key to the apartment. Unlocking the door I already sense the quietness, calling out to Courtney and Brad but not answer. So I pull my phone out of my pocket and send a quick text to Courtney.

Hey I'm home. I'm going to go lay down for a bit. Wake me when you get home.

*ding ding*

We are just grabbing something to eat, we will be home soon. I'll bring you something back. Get some rest!

Thanks Courtney!

I head into my room, and lay down. My bed is so comfortable and it immediately lures me to sleep. I was in a heavy sleep. I dreamt about Ivan and our daughter running around the yard back at Ivan's log house. Ivan was chasing her and she was laughing and saying come get me daddy. Their laughter filled my heart with so much happiness. I was sitting on the porch watching and when I glanced down I saw a swollen belly. Hmmm another baby I thought. Then my hands were running on my belly while I smiled. Ivan stops for a minute dashing up the porch steps and planting a kiss on my lips and goes back to chasing our daughter. His smile lights up my world and those dimples melt my heart.

Suddenly I'm feeling a tapping on my arm.

"Ella I'm home. Come eat!" Courtney says trying to get me up.

I yawn and stretch. Wasn't ready for the dream to be over but it was nice while it lasted.

"You're smiling!" Courtney nudges me and plops down on the bed. "Care to share?"

"I was just dreaming about Ivan and the baby." I smile. "Everything's going to be ok."

"Good now come eat!"

I head into the kitchen. Brad's already sitting at the table dividing up the Chinese food.

"Chinese food!" I yell jumping up.

Courtney stares at me with concern. "What's wrong?"

"Ivan and I were about to eat Chinese when Amy attacked us. It's been 3 days. I need to go back and clean it up before he gets bugs or animals."

"Let's eat and Brad and I will go there with you and help clean up." Courtney says reassuringly. "Plus I want to take a ride in that sweet wrangler parked out front!"

We finish eating making small conversations. I tell them about Morgan and what she had said about Ivan making it and about the baby. Courtney believes in mediums, fortune tellers and psychics. So the whole time she's staring at me wide eyed and agreeing with what Morgan said.

Brad stands up and starts clearing the table. "Ready to head out ladies?"

"Let's go!" Courtney and I say in unison.

The drive to Ivan's seemed kind of long. Probably because I was dreading going back to where it all happened. Pulling into the long driveway descending toward the house, I notice mail spilling out of the mailbox onto the porch. The living room light is on and the screen door was not shut all way. Pulling behind Ivan's truck I throw my car into park. I take a deep breath and Courtney lays her hand on my knee reassuring me that she is here and so is Brad. Swinging open my door I step out and walk toward the porch and Courtney and Brad are behind me. Walking up the steps reaching into the mailbox to pull all of the mail out. Brad reaches over and grabs it.

"I'll go through the mail to see if there's any bills that need paid." He says.

"Thanks Brad, Courtney and I will go ahead and clean up the food." I turn the knob and step in and immediately see the blood spot on the carpet from where Ivan was laying.

Brad saw the look in my eyes and set the mail down. He started to move the furniture and rolled the carpet up and took it out to the trash. "He can get a new one when he comes home. If he decides to replace it even."

Courtney and I cleaned up the food and bagged the garbage up. Brad went through the mail, found Ivan's check book, made sure there was money in his account and wrote out the bills. After Brad was done we took one last look around and locked up, leaving didn't feel right. It felt empty like Ivan was gone like we needed to stay and empty the house out to sell it. But no Morgan said he lives. I will hold onto that hope.
