We ended staying the night here. Derek ended up going with Mama somewhere and I was left with Papa which is ok. He flips on the tv, turning to a documentary about World War II. I pull out my phone to check to see if I've missed any calls or messages.
Courtney: I know you are confused and don't know what to do, but I hope this helps you. I emailed you somethings that I think you need to take a look at.
Me: Hey Court sorry have been with Derek all day at his grandparents winery and we are spending the night.
Courtney: I'm guessing you haven't gotten my email?
Me: We don't have too good of a signal here. I can't connect to the Internet.
Courtney: Oh well I sent you some information about Ivan.
Me: What do you mean?
Courtney: Can I call?
I press on the phone icon to just go ahead and call her rather than waiting for her to call me first. After two rings she answers.
Ok so explain Courtney.
Well Ella, he ended up being arrested and taken to county jail. Him and Nancy were running something that ended up taking money from stock holders. I forget what it's called. Ivan's name was tied to a bunch of stuff. So Nancy put him in a induced coma hoping it would buy her time to clear his name. She was unsuccessful.
Seriously Court?
How do you think he afforded to build the house? He was pulling millions from people. Nancy tried taking the blame for the coma with hopes the rest wasn't exposed but Ivan admitted everything.
Wow. So what's going to happen now?
Brad's trying to find that out. He doesn't even know if he wants to help them.
I don't blame him Courtney. He was being lied too this whole time.
Ivan wanted me to tell you he was sorry. He knows everything and he was really upset about the baby. I did tell him you decided to move on with Derek and he said he understood. This was discussed before we found everything out about the stock theft. Maybe that's why he came clean I'm not sure.
Thanks Courtney. I don't think I could have talked to him about any of this.
Well he kind of got the hint when you went running off saying you couldn't do this.

Oh I know Ella! Don't worry about me not understanding. I encouraged you to give Derek a chance. He's good for you, he's good to you. Speaking of which you said you are at his grandparents winery?
Yeah and it's amazing here. His grandparents are so wonderful too.
I look over and I can tell Papa heard that because he grinned.

"Yeah she was calling to check on me. I'll tell you the rest later."
"Ok. Can we go somewhere and talk?" He asks and I'm nervous all of sudden. He has a serious look on his face.
