Why did she have to wear a dress or a skirt at family occasions when her brothers and cousins got to wear jeans and a smart-casual shirt?

Answer: she didn't and rarely did! Besides you cant do anything in a dress! Running? No! Sitting comfortably? No! Playing games with the boys? No! Climbing trees? Also no!
