I've been staying with Noah for about a week and a half now, it was a little awkward at first because Noah and his friends had to learn to knock before entering the bath room and stop leaving underwear lying around. Noah gave me the spare room across from his instead of the one down the hall which was nice, I've decorated it with all my stuff and settled in quite quickly. Noah and I had a long conversation about my stubbornness in the fact that I want to contribute to the house instead of simply living off him.

We came to the decision that I would cook dinner for Noah and myself, as well as any friends who were over, usually Luke or William and I told him I'd do some basic cleaning. Noah felt bad about the last bit but I promised I used to be the "woman" at home so I don't mind.

I'm mostly used to Noah's schedule, he drives us to school in the morning and home in the afternoon. He usually plays video games, watches movie or goes down to the basement to read during the afternoon, sometimes some friends of his come over but it's mostly Luke. Every Wednesday and Sunday evening he goes out with Luke for guy's night, William goes with them sometimes.

One weird thing I've noticed is that Noah keeps the basement locked at all times, I'm not going to intrude on his privacy though. He's been kind enough to let me stay with him rent free the least I can do is be polite.

I've been trying to track down my mom for a while now, I managed to find her through the real-estate agency she works for and managed to find her Facebook page. I know it's juvenile to stalk someone's Facebook page to find information about them but it's my only choice right now.

She lives about 10km away from Noah's place with her new husband, Josh, and their son Jamie. I didn't even know my mom had a baby, he's a year old judging from her photos and there are a lot of them. My mom seems really happy with her new life but I can't bring myself to hate her for leaving an unhappy marriage, she couldn't have known her ex would turn into an abusive drunk. I can hate her for not checking on us, not making sure her daughters are okay.

I got her number off Facebook, address too. Someone should probably tell my mother it's not too safe to post your address and private info on social media, I hear it attracts the crazies.

"Noah?" I poked my head in the lounge. He had two guys over, business stuff from what I guess since he didn't introduce me. When he had friends over Noah always introduces me to them.

"Be back in a sec." He got up and came into the hall with me, "Something wrong?"

"No, um, there's a chicken a la king in the fridge for dinner and I was thinking maybe, well-"

He grinned, "Spit it out Alex."

"I tracked down my mom and I was wondering if I could borrow you car and go talk to her about Kennedy." I blurted.

He frowned, "Alone? I'm kinda busy right now and Luke's taking Kennedy out."

"Luke's doing what?"

"Shit."

"What the hell is Luke doing with my little sister." I almost growled.

He blushed, "I wasn't supposed to tell you but he kinda likes her... He said he's taking her to a movie because your dad's off."

I bit my lip, "I'll kill him later. I can take care of myself Noah, it's not like my mom's going to do anything."

"Your dad did." The look on his face showed he regretted the words as soon as he said them. "Shoot I'm sorry that's not what I meant."

"Yeah, it is but it's okay because it's true."

"I still shouldn't have said it."

"Yeah."
