Someone really needs to teach Noah about speed limits and how to stick to them.

When we got back to the house the guys had moved the various bottles from the lounge where we'd dumped them earlier to more suitable areas. The long kitchen counter was filled with bottles and two ice filled buckets containing the cokes. The keg was set up in the lounge with a pile of lumo green cups stacked next to it.

"Green?" I asked.

"Yeah, red solo cups were too cliché." A freakishly tall blond male smirked. "I picked them, I'm Luke not sure if introduced myself before."

"They look cool." I said nicely.

Noah rolled his eyes, "Weird asshole."

"Hey, I thought they were cute." I said and instantly regretted it because Noah gave me a dirty look.

"Whatever, why don't you two set up the damn lights and I'll push back furniture with William."

I bit my lip and nodded at his annoyed expression. "Okay." I mumbled.

Luke stood up on a small stool tacking string lights around the room while I passed them up to him and tried to untangle the knots. We got them up within fifteen minutes, stringing lights around the lounge and kitchen, Luke checked that the lights in the back yard were working, made sure the pool didn't have leaves floating in it and found a few strobe lights for us to set up.

I noticed Noah had seemed angry as he shoved the furniture against the walls and William gave him a safe birth, letting him work it out himself. I didn't mean for my little comment to upset him that much, I was just being honest.

"Noah? I'm sorry." I mumbled to him when we were alone in the garden.

"Huh? Oh, no. Don't apologise I got mad too easily."

"Why?"

"What?" He frowned.

"Why did you over react?"

"I just didn't like you agreeing with Luke instead of me. Is he more interesting for you than me?"

I smiled and tried to suppress a laugh, "You're so weird, you're interesting and nice to hang around even if you basically stalked me."

He blushed, "Thanks."

I hesitated before giving him a soft hug from the side, Noah gently wrapped his arms around me and suddenly he was squeezing me tightly. I can't remember the last time someone gave me a proper hug like this, one that lasts longer than four seconds.

When we pulled apart I smiled shyly at him and we headed back inside where people had started arriving, Luke had music pounding through the house and the drinks were flowing free already. We must have been outside for a while because there are tons of people in here and more packing in by the minute like it's a rave or something. I noticed two of Noah's friends standing by the door, they were acting as bouncers which surprised me, I thought people just showed up and partied.

Noah led me over to where Luke stood in the kitchen, he said something to Luke that I couldn't hear and then leaned in the talk into my ear over the music, "Hey, do you mind hanging out with Luke for a while, I have to go meet some friends."

"Sure! Have fun."

He smiled and promised he wouldn't be gone too long. I wonder why he doesn't want me to meet his friend yet he let me meet Luke and William, maybe he thinks they won't like me. Maybe I'm being over dramatic, he probably just wanted to hang out with his friends for a little while, no hidden meaning.

Luke grinned and handed me a drink, it looked like he'd mixed multiple liquids together to make a pale pink drink. It tasted fruity and delicious so I sipped it and told Luke I was going to dance. He seemed reluctant to let me out of his line of sight which was a little annoying, I know I might be new to this but I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself at a party without Noah telling his friends to watch me like a child.
