What the hell is-Noah. Crap! I fell asleep at Noah's house... in his bed, after taking pills he gave me. I think I need to be more careful, he could have done anything to me while I was passed out, well it looks like he did do something-he put a blanket over me. That's a little, sweet, I think.
I wonder where he slept.
I should snoop or not, that's kinda rude... no harm in going down stairs to find Noah though. Oh god I hope I don't run into his parents or anything, that would be awkward.
I found a bathroom down the hall and quickly freshened myself up, rinsing my mouth so I wouldn't have morning breath and running my fingers through my hair to tame it. Well at least now I look somewhat human.
Downstairs I found two guys sitting in a dining room, they were at the table sorting money into piles and putting it in small bank bags. They didn't notice me enter the room until I cleared my throat.
"Uh, Hi there?"
"Who're you?" Rude much.
"I'm Alex, Noah's friend I guess."
He raised an eyebrow, "You guess?"
The other guy got up and smacked the back of his head, "Be nice Will, she's a girl, we're polite to girls. I'm Luke."
"Nice to meet you Luke, any idea where I can find Noah?"
"Kitchen. Last room down the hall." He smiled.
"Thanks." I found the kitchen pretty quickly, leaving the two guys to their money counting.
I wonder why they had so much money out there, maybe they have a small business or something? Yeah probably.
"Noah?" I frowned when I noticed the man standing next to him with a harsh look on his face.
"Hey Alex, you're awake." He grinned.
"Well, yeah. Thanks for last night," I gestured to my bandaged arm, "I'm going to go though."
He pouted slightly, "So soon? At least stay for breakfast."
The man "humphed" looking annoyed.
"Oh, right," Noah grabbed a small black bag from under the counter and handed it to him, "Nice doing business with you, you know where the door is."
"Yeah, see you next month." He ambled off making me frown at the nasty smell coming off him as he passed me.
"Business?"
Noah smiles, "Sold some stuff on Ebay. Breakfast?"
Noah's idea of breakfast was reheated pizza but I opted for some fruit, I eat takeout so often at home that it's nice to have some fruit. Most people say they'd love to live on fast food but I can tell you, it's not as great as you'd think considering it makes you feel like you're just eating to fill your stomach not to gain energy or sustenance.
Noah and I chatted about random things like school, movies and favourite foods through breakfast after which he offered to drive me home. I didn't feel like walking after the night I had so I gratefully let him take me home in his surprisingly expensive car. Must have doting parents.
"Thanks for the ride Noah." I reached for the door handle but he gently grabbed my upper arm to stop me.
"Hey, before you go, uh, how did you hurt your arm?"
"I tripped." I answered immediately.
"In the middle of the night, out in a dangerous part of town wearing your pajama shirt?" he asked dubiously.
"Yep, that's what happened."
Noah frowned, "Well if you ever trip again feel free to come over to my place and I'll fix you up. If you need a place to crash for a night or something call me okay." He pulled a pen from the glove box and wrote his number on my hand.
"Why would you help me?" I'm not used to people giving a crap about me.
He blushed, "You're sorta tiny and all fragile, I can't help wanting to protect you... you're like a baby bird or something." He looked away like he hadn't meant to say it.
"I'm not tiny." I mumbled.
Noah chuckled, "Yes, you're tiny, short and all curves."
I should have smiled, giggled or thanked him like any other girl would but instead I shrugged and said "Whatever." Getting out of the car.
I did save his number though.
