Meeting 1
You first saw him on a Monday.

It was a plain day, no different from any other. Life at SHIELD was boring if there were no missions to go on. Skye and Ward had suffocated the rest of the team from the sexual tension that radiated from them that consequently thickened the air. Fitz and Simmons had spent most of their time in the little lab and Melinda had been her usual antisocial self. And Coulson? Coulson was just in his office, doing god knows what.

You groaned as the wind whipped around, causing your dark blonde hair to fly in all directions, including in front of your electric blue eyes. The eyes that notified the world of your difference. "For fucks sake!" You gritted her teeth while more rain lashed down. You kicked open the door to the nearest café and entered, Café Bleu. It seemed that the rest of New York had the same idea as you to seek refuge in this cafe from the pelting, freezing rain. The establishment was full to the brim. You huffed and waited in the line of infinite people to order an overpriced chocolate milk.

Finally you got to the barista, whom was overly perky for your liking. It was Monday afternoon, not Friday night. "Hey there miss, what can I get you?" Bobby chirped. "Chocolate milk please". You didn't listen to the price but just gave him a $5 bill and hoped for the best. You took the change without another word and made your way deeper into the coffee smelling jungle, inhabited with hipsters and office workers alike. Your tired eyes scanned across the room to try and find a vacant table, or a chair at least. You felt eyes upon you, as you swiftly glided to an empty, black, worn stool that was situated next to the wide window that spanned the northern wall of the cafe.
You sat down and sighed in relief at the fact that you had escaped the tide of sweaty, obnoxious people. The figure opposite you didn't even acknowledge your presence. You immediately scanned the man: late twenties/early thirties; military background, according to his posture and his worn and hardened hands; 5ft 11; has trouble sleeping, according to the dark rings that hung under his eyes like shadows, probably the product of countless night terrors; and metal armed. This man interested you. He seemed like he was hiding secrets, you could tell. You were hiding a few yourself.

Meeting 2
You next saw him a week later on the Tuesday.
Coulson had let you leave earlier then usual and you decided to treat yourself to another of Café Bleu's overpriced chocolate milk. As it was lunchtime, the cafe was full again and you were served by Bobby. And yet again the only seat available was in front of the man from last time. You sat down in front of him and his black coffee and noticed that he was reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He was really getting into the book by you could see. "Don't you know that it's rude to stare". He said not looking up from his book. This took you by surprise. You didn't expect him to notice as you spent your time analysing him. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare, I was just noticing that you are reading the best book ever written." You said coolly, taking a sip from your milk. You kept your facial expression neutral and man did the same as he turned the page and carried on reading the book. "Who is your favourite character?" You inquired with a flat tone. "I like the Mad Hatter, he seems like he doesn't give a fuck. I like that. Who is yours?" He answered. "I like the Hatter as well. For the same reason." You replied. He nodded before carrying on with his reading. You took your book out and started reading.
After about an hour and more comfortable silence, you stood up and out your coat on. "See you soon." You said. "Yeah, see you soon".
