Today was the day that we had to move because my parents were getting a divorce. I went to go live with my mom because my dad cheated on her with his boss. I started packing my things when I heard a noise. I went down the hallway and I heard the noise again. It was getting louder with every step I took. It stopped when I got to the basement door. I slowly turned the knob, and opened the door. I heard a faint whisper. It seemed to say, "Come closer..." I tiptoed down the rickety old basement stairs. I saw something by the washing machine. It had a crimson color, and it was glowing. I thought it was probably a necklace that my mom forgot to pack. I walked closer. I put my hand over it. I grabbed it. A sharp pain hit my head. I ran upstairs to tell my mom what happened. Before I could say anything, she asked, "What's that you're wearing? It's pretty!" I looked down and saw that the necklace was around my neck. I wonder how it got there. "Um... My friend gave it to me so I could remember her." I lied. I didn't know what else to say. I couldn't tell her the truth or else she would put me in a crazy house. The pain returned. "Um... mom? I have a... headache. I'm going to go lay down for a while." I went upstairs and closed my door. I looked at myself in the mirror. The necklace was glowing again. I tried pulling it off. It wouldn't budge. I decided to take a warm shower to calm down. I hopped in and when I reached for the soap, I realized my nails were a little bit longer and sharper than I remembered. I got out of the shower, grabbed my towel, and thought about what I was going to wear. I figured I would wear all black since it was winter and snowing outside. I pulled out black leggings, a black baggy sweater, and a black beanie. I pulled out my phone and decided to text my best friend that I was leaving soon. She said she would miss me. Suddenly, my phone died. I started to look for my charger when my mom said it was time to leave. I put my phone in my pocket and exited the house. I went into the car and waited for my mom. The necklace started to glow again. I pulled open the car mirror to see if I had something in my eye. I screamed.
