Chapter 8

Cole's POV

I wish I was there when she got bitten. I would've been able to save her. I don't know how she will handle being a hybrid. Most hybrids go crazy after their transformations. I hope she isn't one of those people. When I finally got to her, I saw blood dripping from her bitten arm. The bite marks were dangerously deep. Then, she started floating in the air. Her body straightened up. Rays of light were coming out of her. Suddenly, white wings, white fur, and wolf-like body parts were replacing her human look. She was turning into a hybrid. Then, her limp body dropped onto the ground. I hurried towards her and tried to wake her up. I screamed at her and asked her if she was okay. I didn't want to lose her. Scarlet was the only thing I had left. I couldn't lose her. Not now. Not ever.

Scarlet's POV

All I could see was complete darkness. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt like they were glued shut. I wondered when I would wake up. Being passed out is boring. I could feel Cole pushing me, begging me to wake up. After a little while, I assumed it was dark. I could still hear, and I heard Cole say, "I will stay here with you." Then, I felt him lay down on my fuzzy belly. I knew he would stay with me. I just knew it.
