Chapter 3

Scarlet's POV

I woke up to the smell of meat. I don't know why, but I suddenly was hungry. I quickly walked into the dining room. My mom made bacon. Somehow, I ate 3 pieces in 1 minute. My mom didn't seem to notice. I went back into my room to take a shower. My red hair dye was mixing with the water. I didn't feel like dyeing it again. My brown hair looked black in the shower. I picked out black leggings, a gray jacket, and some comfy boots. I sat down on my bed thinking about Cole. Suddenly, he showed up at my balcony. He motioned for me to open it. I walked over and unlocked the door. He walked in. I sat back down on my bed and he sat next to me. I was blushing like crazy. "Listen. Scarlet, I really... like you. I wanted to k-know if you wanted to... you know, date?" I couldn't believe it. "Yes! I would love to." He smiled the cutest smile I have ever witnessed. Just then, my necklace started to glow. My whole entire body turned pale. He told me not to worry. It was just another stage. He was so trustworthy and calming. "You know, Cole, you are the best thing that has happened to me so far. I know that you will always be there for me, right?" "Always." We hugged. I heard my mom coming to my room. "Hide!" I whispered. He hid under my bed. She opened the door. "I'm going to the store. I won't be back for at least 2 hours." She closed the door. Cole came out from under the bed. "Nice hiding." I laughed a little. "I've never heard you laugh before." Cole exclaimed. I blushed. "My parents would never try to make me happy." Then I started to cry. Cole comforted me. We sat and talked about random stuff. "Wait, how did you know about me?" I asked. "Every vampire senses when there is a new one." he explained. I suddenly got a hankering for meat. It was like he read my mind. He pulled out a bag of steak out of his hoodie pocket. I ate it in half a minute. "Vampires can also read minds." Cool. He had a look of worry on his face. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I need to go. My brother doesn't like me gone too long. See you later." He jumped from my balcony and ran into the woods. He had a brother? Huh. I took a nap shortly after Cole left.
