Scarlet's POV
I almost screamed, noting that my mom was home. I couldn't let her see my teeth. I didn't want her to find out what happened to me. I called Cole and told him to come immediately. He opened the door and saw my fangs. ¨This is bad. Really bad.¨ he said. I became worried. ¨Why?¨ I asked. ¨If your mom sees you, she will stake you through the heart, even if you are her daughter. We need to leave. Now.¨ he explained. ¨But didn't you say that I can't hurt those close to me?¨ I remembered. ¨Yes, but that doesn't go for humans. She will try to kill you if we don't leave now.¨ he yelled. I sighed. I packed my things. I was going to miss her. I fought back the tears. When I was almost done, I saw a bracelet that my mom got me when I was 10. It was too small for me now. Without Cole looking, I wrote a note stating that I was leaving and I couldn't say why. It would put my life to an end. I folded it and placed the bracelet on top. I cried and my mascara started to smear. I finished packing and started towards the balcony door. I stared at Cole. ¨Ready?¨ he asked. I nodded. Before I could open the door, my necklace started glowing. The light given off was bigger than usual. Then, the glowing stopped. Cole looked at me, gaping at me. ¨What changed?¨ I asked, worried. ¨Y-your eyes. They're red.¨ he said. Shit.
