Chapter 9

Scarlet's POV

I opened my eyes. I finally woke up! I looked up and saw the forest trees blocking out the sunlight. Then, I saw a white snout where my nose should have been. Then I remembered. I turned into a hybrid. I saw Cole sleeping on the ground next to me. He kept his promise. I lifted my paw and pushed his arm. He slowly woke up and glanced around the woods. Then, his eyes focused on me and he smiled. "I thought I lost you!" he shouted. He hugged me. "I should have been there, Scarlet. You wouldn't be in this mess if I just protected you. God, I'm so stupid!" he said angrily. "Cole, it's okay. I'm fine. By the way, call me Scar." I said. He smiled. I suddenly realized that I was shivering from sleeping on the dirt for a while. I stood up on my four legs, and I told Cole that we needed a place to stay. We walked around the dark green forest for about 10 minutes when I say a group of trees forming an arch. I walked forward, and I thought that this would be perfect. Cole went and got some big rocks for decoration and seats. I know it sounds tacky, but it was the only thing we could do. Anyways, when we were done, I went to sleep because I was exhausted from transforming. My whole body was aching. Before I closed my eyes, I could see Cole petting my fur. He was the best thing that ever happened to me.
